My child has attended Flamingo for the past 4 years and I have been volunteering in the classroom yearly as well. I must say that our experience has been good and even better now that we have a new principal. The AP is one of the best! The teachers are great and caring...

As I may agree with the issue on the Principal the teachers go over and beyond the fact of just teaching. Both my children have gone through Flamingo and have learned a great deal towards not only academics but towards their next steps into Middle school. They are not an "A" school because of the principal; its because of the teachers that teach!!!!!

As a former parent and a volunteer for many years it's sad to see these ratings. The teachers are excellent and so the staff. These ratings and parents involment will definetely go up once the Principal Mrs. Jones finally retires this coming school year.

Not happy AT ALL with child's first grade teacher. She is snotty on the phone and degraded my son. She has the I cant be bothered attitude. Doesn't like confrontations. Wrong line of work for this one. Will be speaking to AP with in days to remove my child from her class. Ever so sorry we moved into this district, was very happy at Sandpiper Elem.

OK staff, OK office attendants, but horrible, horrible administration. The principal is a bully to parents, teachers, staff and students. Will the county please get rid of this lady already!!!!

ZERO stars. Horrible school! At Flamingo all that matters are "looks". They'll manipulate the numbers in order to fit the statistics and appear to be good, but NO ONE CARES about your children's education. The principal has given all her power to another staff member and the school is completely ruined! I have to agree will all the bad reviews...so sad :(

I if I could give this school zero stars I would. I 100% agree with the last rating. This school used to be a great place but one principal was ruined it. Parents don't want to volunteer or join the PTO anymore. Teachers walk around with a ho-hum attitude and it's all because the principal has absolutely no people skills. Stay away from this place.

How very sad that one principal can ruin an entire school. Notice how positive all of the parent comments are up until the day that Ms. Jones stepped in. Now all you see is how lacking the school is in terms of care and concern. So sad that such great teachers and staff have such a poor leader whose position makes her capable of destroying what was once so strong.

Helps poor children in the area with their needs. Provides them w/uniforms when they can't buy their own.

Flamingo Elementary School is an excellent school. My children have been doing so well at this school. I attribute this to the caring teachers and one of the best principals in the county. My child will have a wonderful middle school experience because of the caring natures of the teachers here.

Flamingo Elementary is one of the worse elementary schools you could send your kids to. Their main focus is to brake all the records, i.e. - the school with the most certified teachers, most certified or higher degree paraprofessionals, an A school, a 5 Star school, Golden school Award recipient and so on. In paper it sounds great, but reality is light years away. All the real educators are gone and all that is left are the record breakers; the ones that are there to get their FCAT bonus funds. This school's main agenda is to appear to be the best, but there is little truth to that. It is all about who you know and who you befriend. There is absolutely no interest in having the children excel; only the few 'chosen ones' get the best. What a shame!

I'm glad my son is in Middle School now !! Most teachers are very nice and trying their best. The principal stayed way behind my expectations. She can't handle people and has no one on one communication skills. Because of her the parent involment is down to almost zero - really sad for kids and teachers in times of budget cuts !

My daughter went through all of the grades in this school. This school rocks! Your child will be 'educated' here. The office staff and teachers are great. We went through 3 principals and all were excellent. It's clean, organized, and safe. My son is now in 3rd grade and I'm still happy!

Great!! I had my son in Kindergarden and he was behind in speak when he started the year (I speak spanish and my husband english). He finished the year: speaking not only correct, also properly!, organized, disciplined, reading for himself, writing his own stories, great in math. Excellent feedback from his teacher, hard worker. And when I had the opportunity to speak with another parents about it, everybody had the same experience as me. My mother in law was a Teacher and Principal in NC and when she met my son's teacher she was very happy about her and the greatest teacher that she is. We (my husband also) don't have words to say thank you! Mrs. Molyneux for be an excellent teacher and lovely person. Thank you Flamingo Staff to be deeply involved with the kids education. Thank you too much!

Flamingo is a great school. The teachers are wonderful and there is a high level of parent involvement. I have a son in third grade and a daughter in kindergarten and I couldn't be happier with this school.

Flamingo is not a bad school, it is just not a great school. It has too many kids in a class (20+ to 1 teacher) and there is no gifted program or accelerated program like Embassy lakes in Cooper city. They could do better

The teachers are mostly great and there is a high level of parent involvement. The curriculum is good, although there is too much emphasis, at times, on FCAT prep.

My daughter is 8 and she has been going to Flamingo since she was in kindergarten. She is a hyper child and all her teachers until now would make time for one on one that she needed. She can do the work but could not always comprehend. She is doing so well due to all the help the teachers gave. Also they have 2 speech pathologist at the school. The school has a high parent volunteers. Which to my surprise is more than the normal. Also the school offered reading, math and writing camps on the campus to prepare the kids for the fcat. It was great. I put my daughter in the reading and math camp and she did great. She had no propblem focusing and stating on task with the fcat. The principal always has her door open and i really mean open when you need her.
