Our experience with Westlake School has been amazing for my son. The staff is extremely caring and involved with each students progress. They worked hard to make sure my son received a scholarship. We are absolutely grateful forever and cannot thank the staff and directors enough.

I have two grand children that attends this school and I highly recommend this school. My grand daughter is a high achiever and they challenge her daily even having her working one grade up. My grandson can often be lazy and they push and encourage him. Students are allowed to make up their work given in a timely matter. Students are treated with love and care by the teachers staff and the owners of the school. I have one other grand that will be attending in 2 years and I look forward to him having the same experience in school. Westlake is a home away from home. I rate them from 1 -10 a 10. Truly a five star school

Westlake is a great school for students who want to learn and good teachers that want to teach. The teachers at Westlake are highly qualified most with Masters Degrees and school is cleaned daily by a cleaning crew. It's a shame that people think they can make statements that are false and can be proven to be false. It is so obvious that the same person is making these posts and trying to discredit a really good school with a caring staff, that not to mention is Accredited. The school has a great student body, the students at Westlake are hardworking and caring, So are the Teachers and Administration. I have spent a lot of time at Westlake as a parent volunteer and from experience I can say the negative comments recently posted are unwarranted and completely false. I can walk in anytime and the Administration always has the time to talk to me. Westlake is a Great school and I wouldn't have my kids anywhere else

Westlake is a great school! I have a son transferred from a Public system and now he is an individual not a number. I noticed that every student is placed accordingly. I will recommend the school any time. Administrators and Faculty are professional and certified.

Well I have been here over a month as an instructor and the last few negative comments I have read makes me wonder if its from the same person. Let me say I am highly critical of schools I work at and this one by far is the best. In response to the prior comments There are no bugs at this school,,they have a cleaning crew in there everyday. Now.people bring up the size of the classes. Yes the rooms are small because the class sizes are very tiny which is awesome. If you want a big classroom where they pack 25 kids into a room try a charter or public school. Now as far as Ipods..Technology is not allowed during class time unless used for research.. Ipods are not allowed at all during class time.. Homework is given. An agenda is signed everyday notifying parents of the HW. The administration has been nothing but kind to and supportive its staff. The administration focuses a lot of their attention on managing students behavior and not micromanaging teachers like in other schools.

My experience with Westlake Prep has been a God sent blessing for my daughter. Dr. Rolin is extremely caring and involved with each students progress. The attention and care given is like no other school. Westlake Prep realizes every student is unique and they set goals and expectations for your child to be their very best. My daughter has received a scholarship from Bright Futures because of her grades and the teachers that pushed her to do her best. I am absolutely grateful forever and cannot thank the staff and directors enough.

My son attended WestLake last year and he loved the school. There was never any homework and he was making As and Bs. I thought he was doing good until he started attending a new school this year. I am now facing the horror of discovering that his academic skills are worse than 2 years ago. They tricked me into thinking that he was doing well just to keep charging us their high tuition fees. I now face an uphill battle with my son but I think God that I pulled him out when I did. I just wish that I could get my hard earned money back!!!!!

I am a new to Westlake this year; however my experience working with the school over the summer and now seeing the school operate is quite remarkable. My child has never came home from the first day of school so happy to be in an environment where he can actually focus on learning. I picked my child up early during the week and randomly stopped in; the students are top notch. Everyone is friendly and professional. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year; for the first time in a long long time. Thank you Westlake!! I highly recommend Westlake!

Westlake Academy is a wonderful school for verbal, autistic, children. Academics, physical education and the much desired social skills are recognized as the building blocks that they are and are given their due importance. My son has been flourishing for 3 years and will no doubt be able to graduate with a well earned, high school degree.

I have a daughter who has been attending Westlake for 2 years and will be starting her 3rd year in Aug. I am very pleased... My daughter has made great strides and progress in the past 2 years at Westlake, more then I can say for the public school system, where all she did was get picked on and bullied. I have also noticed the care that is taken in the students, and have read all of the other posts.. and just have this to say, I was skeptical at first having my daughter at this school, and NO the rooms are not CRAMPED at all nor over crowed... I have had the pleasure to meet all of my daughters classmates, and they are all terrific, and they may not all be on the same level but each are learning at their own pace, my daughter couldn't write more then a sentence before Westlake, NOW she is writing paragraphs and full pages. WESTLAKE AND ITS STAFF IS AMAZING!!!!!

Wow! to the post dated May 1, 2012. My son currently attends Westlake but at end of this year I will be moving him to another school. You get what you pay for which isn't much! You speak of teachers/staff that have a Bachelors degree or higher; yes from the University of Phoenix in Psychology that should have some formal work experience with children with disabilities. My child has also been bulled at the school. IT might be better then public schools but there are still issues. I am also not the only parent that feels this way! If I was to say; hmmmmmmm this was a post not from a parent but from one of the owners of the school. Parents do your research on all the names of the staff at the school before admitting your child.

The kids are all cramped in a very small, unsafe, and not necessarily clean facility. The program/admin is very disorganized which stems from the leadership of the head master. The students can play their iPods through-out the day. They are not challenged and there is never any homework. Teaching below the grade level, 2 grades in the same class room. I would not recommend this school. STAY AWAY!

Westlake is breath of fresh air. My children actually enjoy school now. They are accredited by SACS and FCIS. ALL the teachers have either bachelors or masters degrees. The special programs at the school are great and the support is wonderful. The doors are always open if I have any questions and I love the communication. The school has a great support staff. It is really a great school, they are all there to help the students academically and socially. I could go on and on about how wonderful this school is. The campus is small but it is a safe environment with a medical doctor on staff and a paramedic. I know that when I drop off my kids for school not only are they getting a GREAT education but they are SAFE!

There may be no new campus but the students are getting a great education from a school that really care about the students. The campus might be small but it is ALWAYS clean and very well decorated for holidays and events. I am so grateful for the Staff at Westlake. My son is autistic and when he comes home now he is happy. He says words to me now. The school has great programs for all types of students; whether average, above average, and special needs. I have two children, one in the prep program and one in the academy for special needs. Both programs are fantastic. This school has given us so much, we are very satisfied. I would definitely recommend this school.

I find there to be a very pleasent environment in the school. Children are treated as individuals and are allowed to progress at their own pace without being bound by the actual"grade" they are in. if your child is advanced, they will be in an advanced class. If they need help they may be held back in the subject area they need help in and then receive a tutorial. the students that had problems last year were the ones with behavior issues and parents unwilling to accept it.

There is no new campus and the kids are all cramped in a very small, unsafe, and not necessarily clean facility. The program is very disorganized and the material the students are covering is NOT always at grade level. The students are not challenged and pushed to deliver the appropriate work and it is too easy for them. There are 2 or sometimes 3 grades in the same classroom. I would not recommend this school.

My child has attended this school for 2 years now and I have been very pleased. The individualized attention has really helped my son excel in all subject areas. The administration is very helpful and supportive.

After about two years of a different administration, the schol has returned to its original successful roots. The success of the last year, the expansion of the school programs, and the addition of a great new campus has put this school back on track. The original administration is back and doing great!

My child attended for four years. The school held promise early on, but this past year has been a disaster. Too many changes in faculty, administration, school locations, classes, etc. There is a complete lack of discipline, too. Kids roam the halls listening to their iPods. As long as the tuition is kept up to date or the child shows up so they can get the McKay funds, it's all good as far as the school administration is concerned.

School has gone through constant turnover of staff and have relocated several times. Does not have sufficient space for students overall. Too many field trips this school takes and sometimes you wonder if it benefits the students at all.

My children attended this school for almost four years. I can honestly say that It was three years too long. There was a constant flow of teachers coming and going, unqualified, uneducated and unlicensed adminstration teaching and a constant change of campus location. The final straw was when the 'school' lost their credentials. I would not recommend this program to anyone.
