I have two children that currently attend this school and I am extremely pleased! The technology program is amazing.. there are computer labs in the classrooms, interactive projectors (smart boards) in the classrooms, a tablet program where students can do research, do projects and assignments and send them directly to their teachers. It is really an awesome school and my kids are doing great academically. The school is accredited by SACS/CASI and FCIS. The small setting is a great academic environment. We love it there!! If you are looking for a great school with a staff that truly cares... Westlake is what you are looking for.

Wow! I was really heart broken to read such a post about Westlake. Your talking about a school that has been educating students K-12 for over 17 years! Not to mention they are FULLY ACCREDITED by the highest accreditation any school can..SACS/CASI & FCIS. They have one of the best technology programs among private schools with a new tablet program grades 6-12, lap tops and computers in every room, not to mention EPSON INTERACTIVE BOARDS( Smart Board) in almost every classroom, brand new text books, every teacher in the building has at least an Bachelors degree or higher, Full time Paramedic/EMT on staff, a very low student to teacher ratio, a very safe "BULL FREE" campus with a complete video&audio DVR Camera system for added security, great learning environment, not to mention this year they had a 100% college acceptance rate for there senior class 2012 including acceptance to University of Florida,FIU,FAU, University of Miami, Barry University, Also, they serve the special needs the community with there wonderful Academy Program with Full Playground & sensory room...If I was to guess, this ridicules post was from a parent that had there child dismissed from the school! Move on!

The kids are all cramped in a very small, unsafe, and not necessarily clean facility. The program/admin is very disorganized which stems from the leadership of the head master. The students can play their iPods through-out the day. They are not challenged and there is never any homework. Teaching below the grade level, 2 grades in the same class room. I would not recommend this school. STAY AWAY!

My wife and I are very happy at Westlake! Both of our children attend this school. One in the high school and the other in the elementary program. After searching for a private school setting for our children for about 3 months we chose this school for several reasons. 1. This school is fully accredited by both SACS/CASI & FCIS which are two of the top academic accreditation organizations a school can earn. 2. A very comfortable," family type" atmosphere where the teachers/faculty truly care about the kids. 3. A "Bully free" campus setting where any issues that may arise are dealt with and resolved quickly. 4. Although the campus is not large We LOVE that because we feel safe when we drop off our children and of its "exclusive feel ". Like most school that have been around for 17 years like Westlake, there seemed to have been some up and downs ( so we heard) but I have to tell you they are definitively on the right path and doing a great job now! My husband and I would highly recommend this school and its academic programs to any parents out there looking for a private school..if you can get in! ( Heard there on a waiting list for most grade levels/programs) GO WESTLAKE GRIFFINS!

Westlake is breath of fresh air. My children actually enjoy school now. They are accredited by SACS and FCIS. ALL the teachers have either bachelors or masters degrees. The special programs at the school are great and the support is wonderful. The doors are always open if I have any questions and I love the communication. The school has a great support staff. It is really a great school, they are all there to help the students academically and socially. I could go on and on about how wonderful this school is. The campus is small but it is a safe environment with a medical doctor on staff and a paramedic. I know that when I drop off my kids for school not only are they getting a GREAT education but they are SAFE!

There may be no new campus but the students are getting a great education from a school that really care about the students. The campus might be small but it is ALWAYS clean and very well decorated for holidays and events. I am so grateful for the Staff at Westlake. My son is autistic and when he comes home now he is happy. He says words to me now. The school has great programs for all types of students; whether average, above average, and special needs. I have two children, one in the prep program and one in the academy for special needs. Both programs are fantastic. This school has given us so much, we are very satisfied. I would definitely recommend this school.

I find there to be a very pleasent environment in the school. Children are treated as individuals and are allowed to progress at their own pace without being bound by the actual"grade" they are in. if your child is advanced, they will be in an advanced class. If they need help they may be held back in the subject area they need help in and then receive a tutorial. the students that had problems last year were the ones with behavior issues and parents unwilling to accept it.

There is no new campus and the kids are all cramped in a very small, unsafe, and not necessarily clean facility. The program is very disorganized and the material the students are covering is NOT always at grade level. The students are not challenged and pushed to deliver the appropriate work and it is too easy for them. There are 2 or sometimes 3 grades in the same classroom. I would not recommend this school.

My child has attended this school for 2 years now and I have been very pleased. The individualized attention has really helped my son excel in all subject areas. The administration is very helpful and supportive.

After about two years of a different administration, the schol has returned to its original successful roots. The success of the last year, the expansion of the school programs, and the addition of a great new campus has put this school back on track. The original administration is back and doing great!
