Amazing school! The PTA is wonderful, the staff really does care about the kids, and my son LOVES going everyday. I can't wait for my next two to join the Ortona Family, because that's what we are - a Family!

My third grade son transferred to Ortona elementary for the 2010-2011 school year. It is a really wonderful school, we absolutely love it. He did very well even starting 2 weeks late into the school (due to our move cross-country from Utah), he received plenty of personalized attention and direction. The staff is helpful, friendly, supportive and professional. It is a great school an I highly recommend it. I'm very sad we are moving so he won't be attending for fourth grade.

I love Ortona because they have such a wonderful staff that support the children and education. Also grandma Talley has a great program where you can go get anything you need for anyone in the family and during the holidays she helps all families in need with food and presents.

We are a small neighborhood school with 254 students. I know every one of them by name and also know most of the parents. We are a very close knit family. Something that's not common in Daytona Beach as it is made up of mostly transient and vacationing families.

I personally think Ortona is GREAT school. The teachers are GREAT.And the principal is the most involved principal I have ever met.My daughter's teachers are always there if I have a problem or concern....Just a great school...You would be lucky to have your children go here.

I have been in Ortona for 5 years my daughter is in 4th grade. The teachers so far have been outstanding. The only improvment I can think of is I wish the teachers would use the schools web site to back up parent / teacher involvement and help with homework. The principal is the greatest!

I am very satisfied with the education my children are receiving at Ortona. The teachers are genuinely interested in helping children to be successful. The school itself has strict safety guidelines regarding access to the campus during the school day. The art teacher is excellent and the music teacher has started the students playing recorders (I believe this is the first year for this). Parent involvement is generally good.
