not sure about the other parent but I would not let my 2 kids go anywhere else,it is a Godly school with great biblical teaching in the classroom and chaprl every thursday, that speaks volumes when they said they would speak to there scholarship provider, silly
This school has undergone some changes and has GREATLY improved since last year. I am so impressed with the love and care that this faculty gives to the kids and parents. They truly care about them. My child has done so much bettter academically since they have they transferred to DBCS. I have several friends that have put there kids in here too and are so happy that they did too. Thier kids are excelling just as mine is and have the teachers and staff to thank for that. They love our kids and it shows.
My child started at this school late, all pre-k children were reading, mine had to play catch up. Dedication of teachers to ensure no child is left behind is DBCS. My childs 1st grade SAT scores lowest grade equivalant was 1.8, highest grade 4.2,(yes fourth grade level) perfect cursive writing (which is not even going to be taught in some states i.e.Indiana)...all with new school, new staff, ...and yes this year was a crazy year when the school staff need support instead of "I liked it at the old location better" critisism. Shame on the parent who wrote the NO RESPECT! post, pray as you send your child a new school it lives up to your expectations.
no sport programs...totally incorrect, in fact cheerleaders & traveling basketball team even though they only have an outdoor practice area. my child has a scar from falling on those tennis courts, dont know what school your deprived kid attended, but it does not seem you got the same attitude we do with teachers loving spirit toward higher education for all students as well as teaching the kids how to be resilient & make the best of what God provided for them. Sad you feel that you deserve more from God than He gave you.
NO RESPECT! I dont know who is deleting these posts but it just reinforces the point that all of the deleted posts were making. The administration is in need of help and yet refuses to accept criticism. There is not one person in this school that I would not consider a wonderful person that truly cares about children but discipline and organization is not among their talents. The last few years this was a great school. I should have taken my child out when I realized how many of the core staff members left when the school moved this year. Everyone was thrilled about the new campus until we realized that the pictures we had been shown of the tennis courts (that dont belong to the school), as well as the "sports programs" and all the other beautiful features were less fact and more fiction.
My children have attended the school for nine years. The school uses ABeka curriculum (Pensacol, Florida)and the curriculum is purchased new by the parent each year. It is very challenging and my children all score high on the National Stanford Achievement each year. Their playground for 1st-6th graders cost $120,000. And their separate 4 year old and 5 year old pplaygroundm is the best I have ever seen. I will leave my children their through 12th grade.
We love this school. It is the best school we have ever sent our children to. They have learned more than we could ever have expected. The teachers care so much about the children and have a loving spirit. The school is going up to 12th grade this year and so we are planning to keep our children there until they graduate. The administrator and his staff are top notch.
I wrote the previous entry about the bullying not being nipped in the bud. This has been rectified in part due to staff replacement and increased vigilance with remaining staff.
This is a great school. We have been attending for 6 years now. The teachers are great and love the kids. I really feel as if they know my kids and care about them in all aspects. They are always available if i need to voice concerns or have questions. I appreciate the discipline and the curriculum that is used here. The most important factor to us is that they are learning about the bible and god and have the freedom to express themselves about these. The only drawbacks would be the extracuurricular activities which are limited. They have 1-2 field trips per year with the transportation being expensive. This is because they have to hire bus services to transport the kids. The other drawback is the fact that there are no sports to get involved in. We utilize the city rec center for basketball and other sports.
The security, safety, and discipline are way up there in qualtiy. Miss out on extracurricular activities and sports. More individual assistance provided as needed and caring teachers/staff. Family feeling environment.
I would not recomment this school at all. My stepchildren have attended it for 6 years and the experience has been extremely disappointing. The books average 10 years from publication date and are often used even when you are forced to pay for new books. None of the teachers have teaching degrees. Most have only Bachelors degrees in various topics. The entire emphasis is on religeon. They do not seem to care about academics at all. Children are passed without learning the material and if you discuss a learning difficulty with the teacher the response is to give the child a passing grade regardless. There are no extracurricular activities other than religeos and teacher/parent contact is restricted to the day report cards are issues. Other calls are ignored.
