I am a parent of a student at Friendship Elementary. Last year my child was struggling with the curriculum. We had to force them to have my child tested. So we could figure out what was going on. Unfortunately the school is more worried not of the students future they are more worried about the schools grade. The principal is worthless. She lost focus on what her job should really be and what she is there for. It's all a business to her and appearance.
Three great years in the past! This year the staff and my child's teacher is terrible! Forget whatever you ever thought a guidance counselor was for. No one is hearing my concerns as a parent. They are ostracizing my child and the tight daily schedule leaves no time for student to ask questions.
I love this school!!!! The teachers are awsome! The front office staff knows every child and their teacher. Very friendly and warm to parents and students a like. The only problem I have is the lack of science for my daughter, she loves science. But other than that, the school is hightly recommended
I have two children that attended Friendship Elem. last year. My son was in 2nd and my daughter was in 4th grade. My Son had a good experience. My daughter, who ia a straight A student, tutors other children, scorred as one of the highest on the FCAT, was placed in a learnng environment not fit for any child. There was violence, students fighting each other, fighting teachers, nasty sexual talk and I feel that a slap on the wrist was all the kids received. Mrs. McNamara was one of the best Teachers I have ever seen, and if it had not been for her, I don't know how my daughter would have made it. For the first time in my childs life, she was scared to go to school. The discipline is not adequate for these bad children and they should not be allowed back into the classroom.
This is a very friendly school. Very clean and the staff are very kind to the children.
Not too thrilled with leadership. Seems as if they've done away with some extracurricular activities that motivate kids - family reading night, FCAT pep rallys, field trips. This may not be their fault? Otherwise, all the individual teachers my children have had over the years have all been great.
So far, this school is pretty good. My kids are doing good. The teachers are interested in the students' progress. We really like it. This is one of the better elementary schools around.
I just love this school. My daughter is in first grade and well above where she is supposed to be in both reading and math.
I have two boys who go to school at Friendship, they both are doing well and I also think that their teachers are great. We had some problems due to divorce and counceling was available right away. I thought that was great. Follow up has been available. I think Friendship is aok. Parent pickup is chaotic at any school. In response to an email I read earlier, parent pickup and drop off is hectic every where. So is life. Thanks Friendship Elementary.
Rather unorganized parent pickup. Big waits, long lines. Teachers just a tad on the overly strict line!!! Terrible food...lack gymnasium Overall good atmosphere...lacking some essentials
My son is a current student at friendship.I was very shocked at what he told me about the meals at school. He ask me 'how can the feed us that junk food and say that some of us are fat'.I ask him if they had p.e.he said yes but we wear the same thing that we wear to school.Thats not to sanitary.I have seen the school meals for myself, and i thought things get better in time.It has been 30 years since i been to elementary school and our meals were a lot healthier. We also had P.E.
