Both of my children are enrolled at Pinewood. This is their third year there and I have nothing negative to say about the school. My children love the school and so do I. Pinewood offers alot of activities including chorus, track, orchestra, ecology, girl scouts...and more. The teachers and staff are great.

I also had very high expectations for this school but that quikly went away after my child began to have an issue at p.e. I asked a number of times that the teachers watch him because he didnt feel safe. The answers i kept getting back was that it was nothing to be concerned about or not their problem. When I drop my kid off, I fully expect him to be kept safe while in their care.

I did like this school until my sons 1st grade teacher decided to stand him in front of the classroom with toothpaste in his mouth for saying a bad word. I would of reprimended him myself at home if the teacher would of made me aware of it but unfortunately this happened on a Monday and on Friday I received a phonecall form DCF that the teacher was being investigated. What upset me the most was through my son's whole 1st grade experience this teacher never failed to communicate the slightest problem [ex: even as far as pulling a color for misconduct which was throwing a piece of paper towel in the wastebasket as if it were a ball]. But what is so odd is that my son never pulled a color that week. HOW WEIRD IS THAT? The principal is aware and to my knowledge the teacher still works there.

I have a daughter in 4th grade and has been attending since kindergarten. I love the school, teachers, administrators, and the entire staff. The prinipal is a good Chritian lady and only wants the best for our/her students. We have to remember the teachers have 15-25 of our kids at one time everyday. That get 7+ hrs and most of us do not even have them awake for that many.

the reason i gave this school a two is because i had alot of bad experences with the principal, the vs principal and some of the people that are in the main office. they are rude and unkind. i had good expectation for this school but quickly lost them. i would tell parent to find a better school for your child.

With two kids currently enrolled in Pinewood Elem., It is a wonderful school with excellent teachers. This is a very well-rounded school with opportunities for every child. The school has both grown and changed (for the better) over the past five years, as I did not have a good nor kind word to say about Pinewood at that time. I had two children enrolled there five years ago, and, well, (lets just keep it like this), things have improved tremendously, and all for the better.

We like Pinwood as a whole,we only wish that the state of FL would lower classroom sizes as voted on so that the teachers would be able to teach at their full potential and all of our children would get the education that they deserve. We should not forget that our children are the future!

I think that they could be a little bit less on dress code issues and a lot more on teaching students. I think it wrong to discipline a student over a belt or color shirts, lets be glad they are in school most everyday. I know we need rules to follow but they are children from working households.
