I guess this site's information is wrong. I called to enroll my son in PK and was told they don't offer it as they only have k-5.

My son attends the ESE program at this school. I have requested several times for an IEP meeting by the assistant principle and the issue keeps getting tossed aside like its not important. I am not very happy with this schools ESE programs or the administrative staff. Also They removed my daughter from her kindergarden class which she was doing very well in and placed her in a class where she is declining and when the issue was brought to the attention of the administrative staff they continue to try to force her to stay in a class where she is not doing very well. So much for wanting their students to Succeed I am taking my children out of this sorry school !

My children have been going to this school since day one and have had some of the best teachers! Their education, compared to the education of relatives in other states of the same age, is outstanding! I could not be happier.

I would not send my dog to this school. Even though it is fulled with animals.

My experience with the Administration and Staff at Edgewater Public School has been outstanding. The entire school goes above and beyond what is expected of them. We parents must hold ourselves to the standard that we hold our wonderful gem of a school. Thank you Edgewater Public School! I can't wait to see the holiday program this week.

There is something very wrong with the Principal at this school Linda Moore. I think she and the rude ladies at the front desk do nothing but catalog shop. Very unhappy with the horrible atmosphere at the school and I blame her 100%

This school has changed over the last year. I am sorry to say that it has gotten worse, not better. The principal doesn't address serious issues and the Vice Principal does what she can but the lack of competent help is grossly obvious. My child WILL NOT be attending this school next year due to the many saftey issues that have been brought to my attention. Unless there is a massive over haul done on the staffing of this school I would not feel safe sending my child there.

Great leadership and teachers! I love this school, there is a lot of parent involvement and my child loves going to school. He has liked all of his teachers, has done very well in his academic achievments and continues to be challenged and grow.

My son is in 4th grade at Edgewater Public and he and I are very happy with the school. He has been blessed with wonderful, caring, teachers every year. I love that they have guidance once a week for the children. Children need a chance to vent their feelings. Keep up the great work Edgewater Public!

I can't speak highly enough regarding this Elementary School. The teachers truly care about their students. Several clubs are available to the students because of the dedication and committment of this Principal and the teachers who offer them to our children Edgewater Drama club, Chorus, Talent Show, Safety Patrol, Future Educators---to mention a few because the teachers choose to go the extra mile to provide these afterschool clubs for students which are highly supported by the Administration. I am aware of at least 3 teachers who provide tutoring after school, donating their time and attention because they care. It is a positive environment that comes from the top down. This Principal and Vice Principal are very visual and go the extra mile to support staff and students. I often volunteer at this school. I am grateful! The campus was renovated and is beautiful! I am grateful!

My son has gone to Edgewater Public school since he was 31/2 years old. He entered the ESE Pre-K program and has progressed to a wonderful 4th grader. The quality of services, and teachers has been beyond my expectations. Leadership has always taken an interest in providing the education my child needed. I was fortunate to have Edgewater Public School as my son's zone school, I could not have found a better school if I had search the world over. Having served on several school committees and my son has participated in many extracurricular activites I find that the parent involvement is less than I would like. However, this has not stopped the school from providing activities if you want to be involved.

This is my child's 2nd year at this school; and I am not very happy with it. The teachers (for the most part) are nice enough & seem to care for the students....However, the principal doesn't seem to get much done, only tells you what she thinks you want to hear, and the parental involvement is next-to-nothing. I am very disappointed that my child only has P.E. once a week, only has music once every other week, while they have 'Guidance' and 'Media'--just what is that? There have been major disruptions this year due to construction projects, while my request to sit in on a class was rebuffed due to it 'being a disruption to the learning process'! Other parents have also been discouraged from volunteering or helping at the school as well. This could become a really great school with different leadership!

Profile Completeness

Want to improve this school's profile?

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
