My daughter was a student at Floranada, unfortunately we moved out of state. I have nothing but good memories as does she. The teachers are fabulous, the programs they have are fantastic. I can honestly say the staff cares for every single student that attends this school.
The quality of the teachers at Floranada is fantastic. I find that they truly care for the children and do what is best for them. My one son is in the ESE program, and the support I have received from the ESE staff as well as his speech therapist has been fabulous. I feel heard when I go to meetings, and I truly feel they are looking out for my child's best interest. The openness for parent involvement at the school is a big plus for me. I feel welcomed and wanted at all times. I have also found the administration, especially the VP to be caring and helpful in all aspects of my children's education. As a parent of 2 Floranada students, and one alumni student, I could not say more about such an excellent school.
My son is a 4th grader at Floranada Elem. I can only think of wonderful things to say about this school, the principals, the office staff, and the teachers my son has had. The individual and caring attention my son has received has been astonishing to me. Mrs. Meyers, the Asst. Principal, truly cares for her students and their best interests. Her efforts to help me to be sure my son is placed in the proper programs and classes has greatly affected not only his education, but also his self esteem and confidence. My son is being taught by an exceptional woman and teacher, Mrs. Rowe. Her innovative ideas have inspired my son to go beyond what he ever believed he could accomplish in school in only the first month of 4th grade! Her words of praise and kind nature bring out the best in students. Her organizational skills are #1.
Both of my children have attended Floranada since kindergarten and they (and I) love it! The teachers are caring and nurturing (even all the way up to my child's fifth grade teacher). The school is extremely clean and well-kept and there is a lot of parental involvement, which is welcomed by the staff. Another plus is uniforms are required, but they are things you can buy at Target (kakhi shorts/pants, red, white or blue collar shirts) or you could wear their own Floranada red or blue tee shirts. This makes getting dressed in the morning a great help!! Now that FCAT testing is over, school has become full of fun activities for the kids and it is welcomed by all of us. We all think the staff and children who attend are the best.
Floranada Elementary is a great school. They have lots of parent involvment and a hard working staff. The students are eager to learn and show respect for the learning environment. That says a lot about a school!
the teachers are the best I have encountered for my son. This is a great school and have been very impressed with the staff and all it has to offer.
My son attended Floranada Elementary from kindergarten to fifth grade. I was extremely pleased with the school. The teachers were all very experienced and wonderful as well the office staff. The parent involvement is very strong. My son will miss Floranada very much. I would definitely say Floranada is one of the top elementary schools in Broward County.
My daughter went to this school starting in second grade. she transfered over from a private school. they helped her with the transition and it made the whole experiance very good for her. i do think though that they should have more after school activities the kids could get involved in.
My children and I have had the greatest years at Floranada Elementary! They are currently in grades 2 and 4. My 4th grader is in Gifted Education and I was very torn about sending him to the Highly Gifted site at N. Andrews Gardens because he really needs it, but...I am glad we kept him at Floranada...his teacher is really doing a WONDERFUL job with him! The whole Floranada staff is dedicated and very loving to all of our children!
We are so very lucky our two children go to Floranada. Our son is in the Third grade and has learned so much already this year. His teacher is Mrs Lanlande What a wonderful teacher. Our daughter has Mrs Petersen another wonderful teacher. It is amazing to see all the great things they learn each and every day. I can not forget the parents that help our kids out of the car in the morning. Thank goodness for them. I can go to work knowing our children got inside the school safe.
I am a grandmother of a student at the present time. I hava had 4 children graduate from this school. I have a daughter-in-law who teaches here now. I am pleased with everything about this school. I am involved as a volunteer. The teachers are dedicated, the principal is impressive. This school is great and always has been!
My daugther just started Floranada. She is in the 3rd grade. She came from another school. For one, the parents seem kind of snooty. The other, there was an open house night and they didn't want the children to attend which I don't think is right. I feel very uncomfortable at this school, like we don't fit. I think you have to be upper class to fit it. Which isn't right. If someone has a different out look on this, please let me know.
We have been extremely impressed with education team at Floranada Elementary. I have a ten year old who required both gifted and special needs testing. The education team made certain we applied for evaluation and had access to every area of support which the testing results indicated. They conducted themselves in a concerned, caring and professional manner. After meeting with them about our child and realizing that they did know and understand him, we felt completley confident that we were in the right place. This is a wonderful school which has a few minor inconsistancies in teacher quality and a problem with class size ratio like so many schools in South Florida, but the education assessment team is excellent. If this school could receive the funding necessary to lower the class size to 22, it would be the only place I would consider sending my child.
I have two daughters, ages 14 and 11 who both graduated from Floranada. Both are A students in all advanced classes. I also have a boy about to enter into the third grade and I absolutely love this school! The teachers and staff go above and beyond what is required of them. I see a lot of parent involvement and know that this is one of the most important factors in making an A+ school. Our school scores in the top percentiles on all tests and has a lot of fun with fundraisers, social events, class trips etc.! So, if you are new to the area and considering enrolling your children at Floranada, I encourage you to do so. You'll be glad you did!
The only reason we left this wonderful school was that we moved out of state. My daughter had the best teacher while she was there.
