Wow...just wow. I went to my interview today at Calvary Christian Academy expecting there to be a hint of spiritual discussion, and a more intensive discussion about my teaching experiences and qualifications for a teaching opportunity. Instead--I was met and judged by a Pharisee claiming to be a "Christian", who decided early in the interview that I would not be able to be hired at their school due to my not being married, and that this is because their school is a "Covenant school" and not an "outreach school". How does not being married impact my capabilities as an educator?! This woman even said that they are the same way with parents looking to enroll their children there. WELL! These are not the kind of people I care to work for, nor do I want them to EVER educate ANY of my children in the future! Although I will thank her for praying before and after my interview, because God blessed me with the following passage about these prideful Christians called the Pharisees, of which this school is part! Matthew 23:13-36 says it all about this sorry excuse for a "Christian" school...if you want to call it that!

Parents please prayerfully consider if this place is where you wish to send your children. The administration is incompetent as they try to move people around to find jobs for them. The teachers are not qualified to teach the upper level courses, especially at the AP level. The most disheartening aspect is the FAVORITISM given to members of the church and/or staffs children. It is evident in the fine arts, athletics and class preference. It doesn't matter if your child is extremely talented, they will not be selected. As to the biblical standards, how can a school founded by an adulterer , who is still being idolized by a majority of the church members, not be full of hyprocrisy??

I currently go to this school and I'm a junior and all the kids here are hypocrites like its been mentioned a couple times. I came here to go grow closer to God and do better in academics although the teachers only want to degrade and fail you if you are not good enough. I came here thinking that people were going to be friendly like Christians are supposed to be but no, they are heartless and inconsiderate. There are too many unfriendly people here and also new people are treated like trash. Lastly, this school teaches you to be closed minded and just like everyone else.

I am a high school student at CCA, and have been attending the school since the 4th grade. It's AMAZING. Honestly, I could not even imagine a better school. The staff does an incredible job at making and keeping the experience Christ centered. It's a very positive and happy environment, the education is great, and you can do EVERYTHING extracurricular. Performing arts (fabulous program), sports (also amazing), engineering, photography, ceramics, outreaches, starting your own ministry, etc. They offer mission trip opportunities to Hungary, Mexico, Thailand, Bahamas, El Salvador and the U.K. It really is amazing, and the student body is great. Please do not allow some of the negative reviews to affect your decision on attending; the school is unbelievable and your child will fall in love with it. :)

This school is fabulous and I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews and I'm shocked to even see complaints like this. My daughter has been going here for over a year and we love the teachers, administration and couldn't be happier with this school. My daughter has excelled in every aspect and her behavior is positive and loving! All the parents that I talk to are happy with the school as well and it's not true that this school is for rich snobs. Take a walk down the hallways, playground, gym, etc. and all you'll see is smiling happy faces!

If you want your child to learn how to have a closed mind, send them here. If you want your child to be pressured to be someone they aren't, send them here. If you want your child to be judged and frowned upon for every "mistake" he or she makes send them here. This school is for rich snobs who think they are better than everyone else. I was bullied at this school from 9-12 grade just because I wanted to be myself and not like everyone else. This is a school where you CAN'T be different. The staff will reevaluate your spot at this school if you think differently and they will question your beliefs and morals as if they themselves are 100% correct and perfect. I made zero friends there because i was always pointed out as the differnt one when in reality i was the only sane person there. Its almost as extreme as If you go out past 12 am on a school night you are considered the devils assistant. You have to have the same opinion as everyone else there to be accepted and that is the worst thing we can teach our children.

The administration here is a joke. Unfortunately, they have incompetent teachers promoted to principals and it is a recipe for disaster. Such is the case of the middle school principal; who lacks all the characteristics of a true Christian. His agenda is to bully parents whose children are somewhat struggling academically and refuses to accept any student that needs a little push in the academic area, regardless of his/her Christian walk. The school would truly benefit by replacing these people and place administrators that really care and portrait true Christian character. They must be an example. It is sad that this academy became the money seeking academy.

I see that some parents and students are upset that they were not accepted to CCA. Unfortunately there are about 120 spots open each year for all grades and 1,500 applications. The administration must accept children that they feel will do well and thrive with the environment of the school. I am in the application process currently at this school and others. I have spoken to many parents from different schools and ALL have been pleased with Calvary. If you are not accepted, do not be discouraged but continue to search for the right fit for your child.

Terrible experience from the begining. I decided not to sign up my daughter there after having a horrific (to say it lightly) that my cousin's child was not accepted there because she was having some problems at her public school, and the reason she was having some peoblems was because my cousing had lost her 4 year old son, and since then their family has been going to a difficult time and it has affected the behavior of their daugher. CCA just did not accept her daughter because she was a "behavior" child, despite the circumtances. Really ?

I am a student at CCA, there is alot of criticism, and groups here. It leaves us out alot( the kids who are new). They painted this picture like CCA was going to help me grow in God, but it brings alot of us needing help kids down . Theres alot of bullying in CCA. Dont expect to see youre kid exeling in their relationship with God or grades if they take what people say seriously.. Theres alot of degrading here. The staff are nothing but rumor spreading adults that act like children to get paid. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE.. please.

I am a student. Do not send your kid here. This school is full of hypocrites. CCA is turning into a "commercial" christian school. They are changing everything!!!! Its ridiculous. All the teachers have favorites and everyone else suffers through it. Most of the students do baaaaaad things......There is a lot of bad influences. I do not enjoy going to this school and plan on switching schools when this year is over. Take my advice: Do not send your kids here.

As a high school student at Calvary and it being my first year, I absolutely loved it. Having small groups and chapel really helped me grow as a Christian. The teachers helped me to better understand the subjects that they were teaching but through a Christian perspective to better defend my faith and not be strayed from the truth. Just like any high school, there were the rude kids that didn't have a lot of self-control in their actions, but there were also the kids who demonstrated true Christian values. This school is an amazing school that has impacted me in such a way that is unforgettable! Oh, except for the awful stairs but everyone needs exercise!!

I have been a parent at CCA for 7 years. The school has been a tremendous blessing for our family. Administration and teachers are dedicated professionals that pursue, with focus and vision, the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. The body of the school is a great reflection of the church body. I am amazed at the range of student gifts and talents (spiritualy, academically, fine arts, athletics) that can be met and nurtured. There is not a better investment that you can make in private education than CCA. There must be a reason why CCA is the largest evangelical school in Florida! Let's pray that God continues to bless and direct CCA.

I go to Calvary Christian academy and haven't liked it all the kids around me are bullied, taunted, and mocked I hope that you don't invest your money and time in this school

Honestly this school is amazing. The teachers really care about the students future & making disciples. The students are all friendly & outgoing, its hard to get bored throughout the day. The school becomes like a second home & there are always things going on. Calvary also excels in art, video, dance, theater, music, etc. The campus is also gorgeous & there are many options for lunch. Small groups & chapel are a great part of the school & its a great experience, along w/ all the the outreaches, retreats, & missions trips. Now that CCA & FLCS joined together there is great diversity & overall the students are morally good/godly. I love this school & have made priceless memories here.

I absolutely love this school and the teachers and kids who spend their time and efforts making this the best education I could hope for. If you are not satisfied, I don't know what planet you are on, or what schools you have attended in the past, but it just does NOT get any better!!!! My Senior said in the car today "my only regret graduating is graduating; I would love to spend another year in this motivating, kind and loving environment." There are so many areas to get involved for the students as well as parents. Get involved and embrace the best education you could possibly dream of. I thank God for this place, every single day. Of course when you gather hundreds of humans in one place it can never be perfect, but I really feel this is very close. PS I am not "rich" nor related to anyone at the church or school.

Pros: Facilities and afterschool activities are great. Cons: Bullying, Hypocrisy and politics - until you have the chance to see it, you may not want to believe that this is true at this Christian school. Expect sin, and don't expect them to admit it. This school is not backing its student population based on Biblical standards. There are a handful of people using their own lives to and experiences to judge you and your children. Decide if you need to pay for that kind of attention and "support"

I have two kids who have gone to CCA since kindergarden. I've read most of the reviews here, and there is some true, and some not. 1. Its a bible based school, if you are not reading the bible at home, you won't get the commitment here to Gods word. 2. Rich and not so rich, bullies....this is society today its everywhere including the work place. 3. CCA is a very disciplined school, they don't like you showing up late, neither will your childs future employer, so its good to get them use to being on time. 4. Am I happy all the time at CCA, no. I would like to see CCA do a better job in getting more skilled & certified teachers. I would also like them to think about the greater good of the many and lower the tuition so that the school would be open to more middle class income families which it is not. Otherwise, until something better comes along my kids will most likely graduate from CCA. God willing!
