The school is incredible!!!!*** Excellent teachers best of all they are a bucket filling school.:) allen park elementary + children = respectful, responsible, safe, and smart
My child is currently enrolled in his 2nd year at Allen Park. He is from Germany and English is his second language. The staff has been excellent in helping him & I recommend this school to others. By staying envolved with my child progress and working with the school my child has all A's & over 200 reading points in just the 1st quarter. To sum it up, parents need to take responsibilities as well as the staff.
I am very unhappy with my childs progress at this school. If it were not for me being an involved parent my child would easily slip through the cracks. If your child is struggling with something you have no idea until you see a report card or call the teacher. I have pointed things out to the teacher that she should have been on top of. If your considering this school and your child is not in the gifted program you might want to re-consider.
Allen Park has the best teachers in the world, dedicated staff, PTA members and volunteers! We have a wonderful reading program also, Reading Renaissance. But best of all...our students!! They're terriffic!
I had a child go through Allen Park Elementary in the gifted program. He had a wonderful experience there. I was totally impressed with the school. Now I have a second son at the school who is not gifted but still in a higher level class. This school is not good when you are not 'gifted'. I never saw this before until now. They treat the children very unfairly and the teachers are pure partiers. Choose wisely.
My child recently started at Allen Park. I was surprised to find out from they do not have recess. I feel young children do need a break and to just have free un-structured play. Also when tested for classroom placement my child was very upset and nervous about starting a new school and they did nothing to make him feel more comfortable. So my child did not test well. I know this is a good school but I was disappointed based upon my first impression.
Allen Park Elementary has an excellent and highly qualified staff and administration. Not only does this school meet all of my children's academic needs, but the warm, caring and safe environment that the teachers provide each day is really genuine. My son and daughter have both had wonderful educational experiences at this school. As a parent, I am very pleased with the communication from the teachers. The school is well-maintained and the office staff is very organized and friendly. If you are looking for a wonderful, educational experience for your children where their individual academic needs are met to the best of their ability, then Allen Park Elementary is worth the waiting list to get in!
I currently have 2 children at Allen Park and I am very pleased with the education they are receiving. The staff is caring and competent. The parents are involved and for the public education system, I rate this school an A+.
My child is currently in the third grade, he has been attending this school since pre-K. This school in its entiry is involved with the kids. They have an awsome reading program!! Best public education..
I did not think my kids were getting a well rounded education at their private school. It seemed only one subject was being focused. Upon acceptance at Allen Park, one was tested and placed in the exceptional program, the others were not. I didn't care for the social interaction nor did I think the curriculum any of the kids received was better than that at the private school.Classes being smaller at the private school gave my kids more individualized time with the teachers. The 'gifted program' was no different than what my child was learning at the private school. I realized that putting a 'tag' on my child as being exceptional was stressful to him and taking the other kids back to the private school left him feeling alone and isolated; almost as being punished. All are back in the private school, excelling in all subjects.
