Our family could not be happier with the environment at Saint Francis! We have twins in VPK and another child in kindergarten and to say we were worried when the kids started this year would be an understatement. Being from up North, the environment seemed so different and we just weren't sure we would be happy but boy were we WRONG! Saint Francis does an incredible job of creating a "family" and the way the children are cared for is above and beyond. We were endlessly surprised by just how many staff members knew our children, their names, and made it a point to interact with them. They also integrate the older children with the younger ones at every opportunity which gives the little ones confidence because they have "big friends" at school and it teaches the older children kindness and patience. All of this is done with The Faith being the primary theme that runs throughout everything. Couple the wonderful environment with strong academics and you have an amazing school that will create for your children a strong foundation for all their future endeavors.

This was our first year at St. Francis Xavier and we couldn't be happier! We were new to the area and were so disappointed at our school options until we found this school. Our twins were in Kindergarten and I am still amazed at how much they learned. They read so well, more than I was expecting, and they love school. Their teacher and aide were so great. I was the nervous mom leaving them for a full day of school and they were fantastic to our family. There is a feeling of community, from the administration, from the students, and from the parents. It strengthens our faith within our family, the kids teach us new prayers and they really enjoy what they learn. If we didn't find this school, I don't believe we would still be living in Florida, we would be back in New England. I am happy to say, I think we will be here for a long time.

We have a daughter in 8th grade this year. I asked her the second week of school while she was getting ready (6:45a) "Do you like school?" without hesitation she answered, "Yep!" Knowing not only that she is getting an excellent education, her faith is nurtured and grows daily at St. Francis, her happiness as well as ours as parents is more than we expected when enrolling her all those years ago. We're on our last year at St. Francis, I've been teared up already knowing this wonderful blessing is coming to an end. The last day of school will be the close of a beautiful chapter for us, we are forever grateful to God for leading us here and for the teachers and staff at St. Francis. :)

We could not be more pleased with the overall experience at St. Francis Xavier School. Our son is in the VPK program and has received outstanding care and compassion from his teachers, administration and volunteers. I have been invited to participate in the classroom on a weekly basis and have personally witnessed the individualized attention and guidance that each child receives, as the teachers recognize their different development needs. It is reassuring to me as a parent to know that my son is being treated with such concern and dignity. It is refreshing to me as a mental health professional to know that children are being groomed to become empathic, loving and responsible young adults.

All five of our children and now grandchildren have attended St. Francis School and we are happy with the decision. The faith-based curriculum reinforced our teachings at home. An average St Francis pupil can be distinguished readily from that of other schools by their decorum. It also has helped them to compete very well academically in all subjects in the higher school years. Our grandchildren are now attending St Francis. We are very confident that they will receive the discipline, the faith and the academic lessons and the care that we have witnessed.

We are blessed to be part of St. Francis Xavier. We have children in 2nd grade and in the VPK program, and they both love school, love their teachers, and the administrators. They are developing a love of learning and of school at a young age. Recently, there have been a few days when I thought my younger child might want to stay home and rest, just because she didn't seem like she was feeling 100%...and as soon as I would ask her if she wanted to stay home, she immediately perked up and wanted to go to school! And then a few days ago, my two children spent over an hour sitting together, reading and pretending to be their teachers! My oldest did most of the reading, but there were a few books that my 4 year old tried to read. One was a Dr. Seuss book and she was doing so well with it! We could not be happier with this school we are so thankful!

We have two children attending Saint Francis. Our daughter is in first grade and our son is in the VPK program. From our daughter's first pre-k interviews we were welcomed with open arms. She had amazing kindergarten teachers who were perfect for an introduction into school. As a first grader she loves to read and is greatly motivated by the Accelerated Reader program. Our son is in the VPK program and absolutely loves it! He has learned so much from his wonderful teachers. He even asks to go to school on the weekends! As a 4-year old he is spelling phonetically and sounding out words. We love that they are learning daily about our faith and they are encouraged to live the school motto to 'Be Like Christ'. The extra curricular activities are top-notch. It is like a big extended family and we love being so involved with the school!

The main priority for our children is to get the best Catholic education alongside stellar academics, and St. Francis has fulfilled this need indeed! The moment you enter the doors of this school, whether you are a student or a parent, you are made to feel welcome. Our two children who are in grades 5 and 7, have always felt happiest in this school ever since they first walked in as kindergarteners. As parents, we want our children to be in a safe, learning and faith-filled environment and this is the place for them to grow, be academically challenged without a doubt, and be reminded of the school motto and live it: 'Be Like Christ.' Thank you to all the wonderful staff and teachers that we have entrusted our children to. Thank you for your dedication and support!

Great school! We are blessed that we were able to send our children. They attended from Kindergarten through 8th grade. It's not perfect, but what is? Our children received strong academics in every grade. Religious instruction that made it easy to carry forward at home. The administration cares for the children and a strong sense of family and dedication is evident when you walk through the door. The extracurricular activities are abundant and their is pride in the work done by children and teachers. If you're contemplating a private school education your child will be well prepared by attending St. Francis

Seeing grandchildren grow in knowledge and faith thanks to the teachers at St. Francis is a true blessing. Those associated with Catholic Education understand the unique personal grace it can bring to a willing student. To know that your grandchildren have that opportunity in our St. Francis community is special indeed.

I am a very involved parent and I always knew that my three children were happy and receiving an excellent academic education at St. Francis. I really came to more fully realize the impact when my daughter began high school and she shared with me how well prepared she felt she was to meet the academic, moral, and social pressures of high school because of her experience at St. Francis. I will always be grateful for the positive impact that St. Francis has had on the lives of my three children.

Our children were enrolled in St. Francis this past year, and I have to say, we were not happy at all. It's a very old building with small rooms and dark, dreary hallways. The small classrooms are over crowded with children. For the price of tuition, class sizes should be much smaller. The teachers are not nuturing and are very stern, even for the smaller children. No idividualism....the classes are punished as a whole for something one child does, over and over again. No classroom management in the classes my children were in. The administration is lacking.....not aware of what is going on in the school or with the children. I feel that if I am going to pay tuition for school, that I should at least get what I pay for......we are trying a different private school this year.

We have been a part of the St. Francis family for five years and currently have four children enrolled in the school. All of our children have had a very positive school experience. The faculty and staff have created a wonderful, faith-filled environment. We have such a sense of safety and peace sending our children there. Our children enjoy learning and love their teachers. Thank you to everyone who makes the school so special!

My family's association with St. Francis Xavier School spans sixty-five years and three generations. We have all been strengthened both academically and spiritually by our education at St. Francis School. Though the physical layout of the school has changed over the years to keep up with the school's growth, the dedication and commitment of the administration, faculty and staff remain steadfast. Students continue to receive a faith-based education in an atmosphere that promotes leadership, responsibility and service. Our children were challenged academically by caring teachers who were always supportive and helpful, and left St. Francis feeling confident that they could compete academically at whichever school they chose to attend. I would like to thank everyone at St. Francis for giving our children a solid start, and congratulate Mrs. Betty Anderson for her dedication and loyalty to the school, its faculty, staff and students.

Now that our sons have graduated from St. Francis Xavier School, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the administration, teachers and staff for their loving dedication to the spiritual and educational mission of the school. The academic environment at St. Francis is impressive on every level, and the school's mission, 'Be Like Christ', is woven throughout all aspects of each school day. First Grade gave our sons a strong foundation and an insatiable love of reading. We credit their academic success to the love of learning developed early in First Grade. Each grade level at St. Francis is nurturing in its own way. In Fourth Grade our sons found confidence through solid classroom instruction and entertaining activities including class plays. Middle School prepared them well for their transition to high school, and encouraged responsibility and service to others. No school could have prepared our sons better! Thank you!

My son has attended St. Francis Xavier School for kindergarten - third grade. I can tell you without reservation that enrolling my son at St. Francis was one of the best decisions my husband and I have made concerning his education. All of the teachers have been wonderful, but I am especially grateful to his kindergarten and first grade teachers for the great start they gave him in reading. It does my heart good when I catch my son reading a book or when we pass a Barnes & Noble and he begs me to buy him just one more book. Aside from the academics, religious values are intertwined throughout the day. I know we are saying good-bye to one amazing principal who is retiring, but I trust the new administration will be just as wonderful. St. Francis receives a five star recommendation from me.

Now that this school year has ended, I would like to write a thank you to the administration and teachers at St. Francis Xavier School. I currently have one child attending St. Francis and next year will have another in the new VPK program. We are looking so forward to having both our children enrolled at such a great, faith-filled school. We also want to thank our principal for all the wonderful work she has done. She has been an inspiration and a wonderful mentor and role model for our child and our family.

I not only have three children attending St. Francis, I also attended St. Francis for 4th through 8th grade. My children are getting the same great education I received, as well as a good theological base to guide them throughout their lives. In fact, my middle child has one of the very teachers I had when I attended St. Francis. I can not think of a single former classmate of mine that did not go on to college and many went on to graduate school. As for me, I went on to obtain my bachelors degree and two post graduate degrees. I also have served as an elected offical for over a decade. I highly reccomend St. Francis.

My three children currently attend St. Francis. As a former teacher, I have been more than satisfied with their curriculum. What I like the most, is that they really help reinforce a sense of community based on a religous foundation. I can not imagine my children going anywhere else.

I currently have two children attending St. Francis, with one more beginning soon. The school has provided everything I had hoped when I sent my first child there several years ago. The academics are excellent, the school infuses the Catholic faith in all areas of learning, and the enviroment is safe and welcoming. The teachers and assistants are excellent, very involved and interested in my childrens' school experience. Finally, I am confident my children will leave St. Francis with an excellent academic foundation and a strong sense of their Catholic faith.

Because of job relocations, our children went to 4 different schools in 4 years, so we have alot of different schools to compare with St Francis. We feel that, by far, St Francis is one of the best. Not only are our children being challenged academically, the teachers and staff reinforce the values of the school motto to 'Be Like Christ'.

We have been a St. Francis family since 1999. I have four children and all are receiving their Catholic education at St. Francis. Starting with kindergarten, the faculty, administration and other families are so welcoming and nurturing that we immediately felt comforted having our first born enter the new experience of starting school. He had just graduated last year and has had a positive experience during his nine years attending St. Francis. My next child is in middle school and finds that all the teachers, guidance counselors and administration is very supportive of all the issues that arise when students enter the higher grades. My younger two are still in elementary levels and are excelling. Their favorite school year for both was first grade. Awesome teachers and aides and we couldn't be happier with our experiences and academic achievements for both of them. I highly recommend St. Francis.

St. Francis was not our fisrt choice of schools when we moved to Fort Myers. My child had been accepted into another, more costly private school. When the admissions personel found our child had ADHD they backpedaled and told us that there was a wait list for admissions. We decided to look into St. Francis as we were not happy with the quality of schools or the lottery system of getting into one in Lee County. While my husband is not Catholic, he has become a big advocate for St. Francis and Catholic education in general. Our child is receiving faith based education along with an excellent academic education. The teachers and faculty are nurturing and caring while reinforcing higher morals and values for the students, The only negative is the large class size.

I could not imagine a better environment for our daughter. Her teachers are so caring and nurturing, but able to draw very firm boundaries and help her grow in independence. Overall, the school is just so balanced. The kids are well-mannered and understand the rules, but they are having fun. The atmosphere at school is relaxed and friendly. The teachers have 'met our daughter where she is' in so many ways. She is academically gifted, but has other challenges like making friends, staying organized, and others. They make sure she continues to excel in class and offer support in the areas where she needs more help. Between the teachers, administrators, and other parents who have become our friends, we feel like our daughter is being raised in a community, something that I think is rare these days.

A school is a place where children should not only get an academic education; they also receive a character education. St. Francis does a stellar job. My son will play a part in a live performance of the Stations of the Cross. He is learning so much from this as will the audience as we travel Jesus' journey with him during Lent. The academics are excellent as well. There is a strong sense of responsibility and accountability. I am pleased that the staff and administration reinforce the values that my husband and I teach at home. It is our primary responsibility to raise our children, but it sure is nice to have an ally like St. Francis Xavier School to help us on our own journey.

The dedicated teachers are this schools best asset. My children love going to school and are challenged each day through egaging activites. I have one child with learning/reading issues and her first grade teacher long with the resource department has taken this child from being barely able to recognize some alphabet letters to reading on her own with minimal help every night at home!

My first memory of St. Francis goes back to 1982, when I moved to Fort Myers with my family from Texas. I started school after the year had began. I remember a feeling of family and acceptance from the staff and my fellow classmates. 27 years later, my own son now shares my sentiments. He began his St. Francis career in Kindergarten and is currently a second grader. I have watched him blossom academically, spiritually and emotionally. We both love the fact that we have teachers in common! My husband and I could not image a better school for our son. He is challanged every day to be a better person by his teachers, administrators and peers. St. Francis continues it's tradition of academic excellence and Christian leadership even after all these years!

Our oldest started St. Francis in 1999 and his sister followed in 2002 and we couldn't be more pleased. They are thriving spiritually, academically, athletically, and socially. The administration and teachers encourage/require parental involvement through volunteer hours. Besides the outstanding administration and wonderful teachers, this truly helps make the school such an excellent place for the children. The parents get to be involved and see first hand the educational process. Our son started high school this past year and could not have been better prepared, and that is not only our opinion, but his, also. We firmly believe St. Francis will be the foundation upon which our children will lead a successful and fulfilling life.

While I have the fondest memories of my own attendance at St. Francis, that does not even come close to the wonderful experience I have had as a parent sending my own childeren to this exceptional school. Both my wife and I feel that the education our children have received there is the best that we could possibly ever provide. The school teachers, administration and personel all care for our children almost as if they were their own, and the loving environment in which they are educated is very evident from the beginning of Pre-K through the middle school years. The school clealy prepares children academically, but morover, they are rounded by the awareness of the world about them and the needs of all of humanity. Withou a doubt, this is the best school for our children, and it can be seen everyday in all that they have become.

We have been at St. Francis for the past 2 years. We moved down here from Tampa where our children were enrolled in a great private school. We moved here mid-school term and were unable to get our 2 children into any schools in the area, except for a new Charter school. What a disaster! St. Francis came to our rescue and welcomed both our sons with open arms. They listened to our needs since we had a child with a severe speech issue. They have gone above and beyond our expectations. I highly recommend this school to all families who want to see their child succeed in all areas of their academic career. My children call St. Francis home and the friends they have made are priceless.

St. Francis Xavier School - I will be the first to admit this is not the school for everyone, but do you honestly think such a place exists? The school is academically challenging and requires a spiritual, personal, and financial commitment from parents. The tuition is a sacrifice for us, but the sacrifice is worth making to have our children learning in a faith community. We like helping out at school and are happy to do whatever we can. Our children are happy and are learning so much. The children go to Mass weekly and speak openly about the Catholic faith. St. Francis is the best as far as we're concerned. Time and time again, the principal of our local Catholic High School has stated how much better prepared the St. Francis students are for high school, both academically and spiritually, and how the St. Francis students are always contributing.

We have been actively involved with St. Francis for the past ten years when our oldest son began school. Now that he is in high school we are convinced more than ever that our decison to send our three children to St. Francis was a great one. Our younger two are currently in third and seventh grade. Our children have all received a strong foundation in literacy and mathematics in the primary grades particulary first grade. With each successive grade their skills grew. The curriculm is current and challenging. The teachers are certified and highly qualified. They are truly interested in the success of each student. Our oldest son had the opportunity to participate in the schools musical production 'Beauty and the Beast'. It was an unbelievable experience! SFX has our highest recommendation!!

For the price, class sizes should be smaller. Too many children crammed into a room. The quality of teachers is hit or miss. I expected more out of this school when I enrolled my child....and am looking for other schools for next year, as he won't be back there. If I am going to pay this much for an education, I expect a better curriculum, better teachers, and especially no more than about 22 children per class. After all the good I had heard....what a let down. Just ask, many parents of children there will tell you the only reason they keep their children there is because it is better than most of the public schools...not because they think it is a great school. If you are willing to settle for an OK school, then you might be happy here.

Special and blessed our feelings about being at St. Francis. Special - the teachers and administrators, the love and nurturing, the faith-filled environment, the curriculum. Blessed we are truly blessed to be part of St. Francis, to have our children growing up in such a fantastic, challenging, Catholic school. The teachers always demonstrate their love for the students and love for teaching. As a parent, you always want the best for your child, and we believe St. Francis is the best. Our child loves reading, math, science, art, music, computers, Spanish. The reading program is amazing and to see our child be able to read almost anything now is amazing. She loves learning and going to school. She adores all of her teachers, and she is always greeted with hugs and smiles. St. Francis is truly a special school that we are blessed to be part of academically and spiritually.

Academically challenging: Yes. Students at SFX consistantly score very well on norm-referenced national tests (ITBS) & high school entrance exams (often times earning the majority of awarded scholarships). Physically stimulating: Yes. SFX has winning basketball, soccer& golf teams for boys & girls. There's even a running club. Spiritually inspiring: A consorted effort is made to continually inspire children to think beyond the day-to-day rigors and connect with a Higher Power for the betterment of self, mankind, and the world. Open-door policy: Parents are invited and encouraged to be in the school, taking an active role in their children's education. You are free to lunch daily with your children. Fun: Although the environment is quite structured to enhance learning, there are fun-filled events throughout the year, such as cook-outs, relays, bless the pet day, student vs teacher games, camping trips, etc. that foster excitement and amusement in the academic environment. We're a second generation SFX family!

I had my children enrolled at St. Francis. There were 36 children in my oldest child's class. The teacher had the desks pushed together against one another because there was no room to pull them apart. She also had a very noisy class due to the teacher's lack of classroom management. When the disruptive kids got rowdy, the good kids suffered the punishment too, since the teacher punished the class as a whole for behavior. I also didn't see the caring atmosphere most speak of on here. I once saw my youngest child's teacher push her along in line at the end of the day as they were proceeding out to the parent pick-up line...and I was paying for this! The teachers are not nuturing, like most teachers of young children are. The curriculum is lacking, as well. Maybe the teachers are the ones writing all the reviews on here?

Our family moved to Ft. Myers nearly two years ago. We knew we wanted a school that would provide our children with not only an excellent education, but a faith based school as well. St. Francis has done that. We have 2 children at SFX. They have developed a love for learning and have also learned responsibility and accountability. It is obvious that the teachers love being at SFX. The children are greeted with smiles, hugs and kind words each day. My children have come a long way since beginning SFX. My oldest is in 1st grade and already is taking Spanish class while my son in 4 year old PK is learning sight words and can read simple books. All parents are encouraged to be active with the school and there are many opportunities to meet other parents. Overall, we are very happy with our choice of St. Francis school.

We have been blessed to have our three children attend St. Francis. We currently have a third grader, seventh grader and a graduate of St. Francis. We cannot say enough positive things about St. Francis. Our children started in Kindergarten and have had the most positive experience throughout each school year. My oldest son was exceptionally prepared for high school and truly loved his years at St. Francis. His fondest memories were attending the weekend fieldtrip at Sea Camp in the Florida Keys in 7th grade. The love and devotion of every teacher at St. Francis is unlike any other school in the county. Our children not only recieve an excellent education, but are surrounded by a faith built community each and every day.

We have two sons at St. Francis and we couldn t be more pleased with the academic, social and spiritual growth they have shown in these critical years. They are learning all the basics as well as religion, art, music and even Spanish. Our boys have become passionate readers, devouring books on a weekly (and sometimes daily) basis. At the end of this past school year, our first grader tested at a fifth grade level in reading. Our fourth grader has made so many good friends at the school. He s involved in the St. Francis Cub Scouts and the school s running club. Academically, some subjects have proven challenging for him, but the teachers are so patient and kind. St. Francis Xavier School is a blessing for our family. We have a 3-year-old son and are looking forward to the day when he joins his brothers and becomes a St. Francis student too.

St Francis Xavier is the most exceptional educational institution in the South West Florida area. The academic's are one of the finest aspects of the school itself & are delivered to the students with diligence. The teacher s dedication & inspiration are surely passed to the youth, & parents. The environment & foundation is based on respect, moral integrity & a valuable faith in Jesus Christ. I am inspired as much and chose the school for these reasons, hope you give your children the same advantage as I have given mine.

St. Francis is a fabulous school that makes you feel at home from the minute you enter the doorway! Our daughter is greeted with smiles each morning from the school's administrators and teachers. There is a real sense of belonging within the walls of this school. It means the world to us that our child feels secure, loved, and valued. She is receiving a high quality education with a strong foundation in all of the subject areas. In PreK, she discovered her love for writing words. This grew further in Kindergarten as she began to compose short stories and songs. Her creative voice has thrived! In 1st grade, she was enveloped in the world of poetry. Each one of her poetry anthologies are a prized possession! In 2nd grade her joy of reading flourished. The St. Francis teachers have given our daughter a terrific gift...a passion for learning!

It is a parents' dream that their children be more successful and prepared for life's challenges than they were. It is our belief our sons will be more successful because of the foundation they received at St. Francis Xavier School. The teachers at St. Francis give religious and academic formation, discipline, social skills, and self-confidence in an environment hard to match anywhere. The middle school math, science, and language arts curriculum is current and challenging. We believe children model themselves after those they spend time with. The St. Francis faculty and staff are excellent and caring. We are indebted for the formation and education provided our sons.

St Francis Xavier - What a blessing! Our family arrived in the area 5 yrs ago and discovered a wonderfully spititual family community at SFX. The academic and spititual growth of our son starting at the kindergarten level and now in the 1st grade has motivated my wife and I to volunteer 30+ hours so far this year to be close to his experience. Our second son will be starting pre-school in 2009. If your looking for that unique enviorment with challenging academics, sports and extra ciricular activities supported by a faculty giving love and frienship, Saint Francis Xavier is for you. St. Francis is a wonderful, faith-filled Catholic school with excellent teachers and administrators who genuinely care about each student. Our child is in first grade and her love of learning and joy in going to school is incredible. She started here in Pre-K and we cannot imagine a better educational experience. The curriculum is excellent the students are always encouraged and motivated to do their best. We were amazed by all that our child learned in Pre-K and Kindergarten. In first grade, we continue to be so pleased. First grade has a full curriculum, including an excellent and challenging Reading program, Math, Science, Spelling, PE, Computers, Music and more. It is incredible to see the amount of work our child does in school and to see her excitement. The teachers are the most caring, nurturing teachers and the environment is safe and loving. St. Francis has our highest recommendation.

When it was time to enroll my son in school, I weighed all the options carefully when visiting the schools in the Fort Myers area. I knew I had found what I was looking for when I walked through the doors of St. Francis Xavier School. From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel welcome and there was no doubt in my mind it was the educational setting I wanted for my child. His PreK, Kindergarten and First Grade experience has been awesome. The academics are excellent and are taught by the most caring teachers ever. Also in the curriculum is Art, Music, Library, Computer, Spanish, and P.E. The faith filled environment matches the values my husband and I teach at home. Kudos to the administration and teachers for providing a safe nurturing environment where children are encouraged, challenged and loved,

I graduated in 2000 from St. Francis. I attended grades 3-8. I was diagnosed with A.D.D. in 2nd grade. Skyline, St. Andrew, and Gulf failed to guide me through school and help me succeed. St. Francis took my hand and helped me focus. I have since then graduated with a 3.78 from High School and graduated from College with a 3.72. This school was the laying foundation that I needed to move on and become a great student. I am glad my parents put me though this school. The soccer program is excellent. The school is in top competition and when I was attending, most of my teammates were Fort Myers Strikers. The school is like a giant family. Everyone is supportive and friendly.

This A+ school has only given my son the success and discipline that not many schools can give to a children. Teachers and parents are there to make it better. Sports all the way and faith in God and helping the community is a plus! Tuition is worth.

I have children in Kindergarten and in fifth grade. Overall, I have found the curriculum to be very good and challenging. I'm mildly concerned about outdated science textbooks. The quality of the teachers is in general very good. Some of the long time teachers are stuck in their ways though and not interested in new technology. There is a strong music/arts program - albeit a little disorganized. There is also a good soccer program for 5-8 graders (5/6 and 7/8 boys or girls)There is also a volley ball program, but I'm not familiar with the quality of this program There is a parental involvement contract that requires a certain number of volunteer hours per year. The parents are very good and supportive.

The academic programs are lacking in many respects. Especially the language arts area of academics. Even some faculty members at high schools in the area have had to acknowledge the large disadvantage the students are faced with. This pressing problem needs to be solved quickly. The sooner a solution is found, the sooner the students at st francis can begin to learn.
