The reading program of this school it good but compared with the AR program in public schools, AR is great. Why they don't provide AR in SMCS?

Six Mile Charter does not support children who are being bullied. Beware if you send your kids here-they are not safe.

I transferred my daughter to a charter school because I heared charter schools are better than public schools. But, I'm diappointed because her previous school was way more better than Six Mile Charter. Since the school started, I don't recieved any checked and returned homework. Once, my daughter forgot to submit her homework for the week, I don't recieved any note from the teacher. I did it intentionally the second time, hoping the teacher will notice, but there was nothing. In fairness, it really depends on the teacher in charge, however, the administration especially the principal should monitor what's going on and will give the guidelines.

My daughter just graduated from six mile last year. She had the best time of her life. She loved the school and the teachers. I would recommend this school to anyone. My daughter misses this school like crazy. Everyday she came home with a smile on her face. Best school ever!

No use in writing a review that's negative. Someone in administration has access and appears to delete negative posts. Since my last 2 posts were deleted I'll keep this simple.......don't send your kids here unless you want a school that cares about making money only and not educating kids.

I have a daughter in the 5th grade at Six Mile Charter. This is her first year here and I couldn't be happier with the school! Her teacher is happy and vibrant which makes learning fun! The work load has been what I would expect in 5th grade and I feel my daughter is already learning a lot. Wearing uniforms is a wonderful touch.....no fuss in what she will wear and keeps everyone on the same dress level. The school is also very secure which takes worry away for all parents. I am so happy with our School Choice in choosing Six Mile Charter!

I have 2 children at Six Mile Charter and we are so happy with the school. The staff is very friendly from the moment you walk in the door. The teachers that my children have had all seem to work well with each other and truly want what is best for your child. They have a new principal this year and he seems to be making some great changes. The school is so clean and even has music playing softly in the halls. Seems silly, but it is a great touch. We are so excited that our kids get to attend school here.

This is my kids second year at this school. When we first moved her in 2009, My kids had to go to the local public school. Every single day, they came home with a complaint about bullies, the teachers, or the behavior of other kids delaying their learning time. At Six-mile charter school the complaints stopped immediatly. My kids are much happier, and they are doing better. The school doesn't place 100% of their time just learning for FCAT etc. My children have gotten a more rounded education and one that I would expect. I am satisfied. One thing I can say is everyone is very friendly . Yes the school has Standards that they expect the students and the parents to live up to, but I think it is worth it. Lunch meals are more pricey but I think the food quality is better. I recommend this school!

Most of the children in the school walk around with smiles on their faces. My kids are happy there. I have 3 kids in this school fom k-6th grade. They do have a 0 tolerance policy. Perhaps the people that have nothing nice to say Have had a bad experince. However, Along with my thre kids I have nieces and nephews that attend and have attended this school with no problems. It is family oriented. Get involved! Communicate with the teachers and show them that you care. Yes teachers do have supply lists for the classroom but last time I checked, almost every school has such requests. People also have an option not to go there.
