Regardless of what anyone else says, I LOVE this school! I am a Proud Cobra! I am currently a Junior at this school but because of it`s phenomenal Dual Enrollment program I now only take two classes at Central; Band and Jazz Band. All of my other courses are at the local community college. Because of FPCHS, I am well on my way to high honors and a GPA ABOVE 4.0! The teachers Ive had here are the most challenging, motivational, and inspiring Ive ever had. My absolute favorite part of this school, the very thing I look forward to everyday, is Band. Ive never met a more talented, energetic, school spirited group of over 100 individuals. These people radiate school spirit! They show it in the way the walk, march, and especially play! Go Cobras!
FPCHS has a great Engineering and Aerospace Program. I now know of LPA students trying to transfer to Central for this program - unbelievable! The addition of Professor Adkins is a huge plus for the school. He is a wonderful and engaging teacher who challenges his students and sets them up for future success.
My experience with the teachers at this school are the worst out of the 4 St Lucie County schools that I have dealings with. Most of them are computer illiterate and do not use the Skyward System. I literally have to send a note with my student to have a teacher call me. Most do not respond to e-mail! Unbelievable in this day and age.
This is a great school with some very strong programs. They have a great engineering program, great IB program, dual enrollment program, culinary arts, music and many others. My child recently transferred to Fort Pierce Central and we have been very happy. Most importantly, my child feels safe. The actual design of the building lends itself to safety. I promotes an environment where teachers get to know the students and the students get to know who is sitting next to them. It is great opportunity for any child.
Im currently a Junior at FPCHS . I love this school at times but there is no fun . I feel as if they are more concerned about academics then making learning fun and trying to get students involved. My mom also went to FPCHS she use to tell me how they had a pep rally every Friday . We only have about 3 pep rally's a year and 3 dances excluding prom . I believe that it was ALOT better with the old principle there . There were more activities and everyone enjoyed it . Also the rules are TOO strict . No Gum ? No Food in class ? Well why do we have vending machines ? . Shirts must be tucked in ? But look at other counties , they don't have a dress code . The way we dress shouldn't even matter about how we learn . As long as we learn . As much as I hate to say it , but if your looking for a school thats will have FUN while learning attend FPWHS .
Fort Pierce Central is the best school there is besides LPA. WIth the dual enrollment program and other cool programs, there's no way any school can compare to it. The teachers are awesome! They help those who ask for help and they explain their lessons very well. If your daughter or son get to have Mrs. Monahan, they have the best teacher. I love her. She's amazing! Besides knowing her stuff, she makes learning fun :]
I am currently a senior at FPCHS and of the 2 years I have attended, I have never had any problems with any of my teachers. Until these past 2 weeks. There is one specific teacher that I have a problem with;she grades unfairly. I do not believe that all of the staff completely understand the material they teach. If that were the case, they would not go against the material in the books that they give us. They teach from these books, but yet they are incorrect, how is that possible? I also attended PSLHS as well as FPWHS, and never had this problem. There is a lack of care, not only from certain teachers but the principal as well.
I love this school, regardless of the teachers or students who attend there. I wish we had more activities, especially in the Pep Rallies, but other than that i love it. Im proud to be a Cobra, pride makes the difference, and i wish it would stay that way:).
This is not necessary There is a high risk of profanity at this school, the teachers are not that caring. It is uneven that respect is not that much given here.I would rather go to Treasure Coast or Centennial !
The test scores for the school doesn't tell the truth about this educational facility. The teachers have a complete understanding of the materiel that is being taught and can translate it, so students can understand it, properly. If you were to compare this facility to a IB league school, it will show that IB league schools are rubbish, and over done, and don't teach students what they should learn. I can prove this to be true since I left a IB league school to go to this Fort Peirce Central for their Auto Mechanic courses, and Engineering, and their Graphic Design courses, which are pronominal, and IB doesn't let you get any true hands on experience. Unless if you consider having a professor teach you, while they learn the material, on Google ? Personally I would say that people that attend the school are quite uniqe, which makes learning enjoyable.
I was picking up my child from class, and i heard the drumline playing out in the courtyard, they were very sharp, i loved it. It made me dance, go Cobras!
My child is attending Fort Pierce Central High School. Although she i slearning and studying very hard, their is said to have been no days of fun, no more carnivals, and no fun. I would like to see a change.
I am currently attending Central. I love it; the people are so unique. For some reason, since the school is new and we have a new principle, the rules are stricter. I dont agree with this, and i might even transfer because of this. The new rules are way harsh and in a way takes away the fun in High School.
my oldest daughter went to the old central and I now have another child in that school because i was happy with the staff and the way they kept the web site up to date until now. It seems they have no new website for the new school
It's an amazing school. My second year here, and I couldn't ask for a better environment. It's fun while we learn at the same time. The staff is phenomenal. I would deffinetly recommend it. : )
When I went to this school, it may not have been the newest, and it may not have been big enough for all of us students, but it was the school I learned the most in. I also attended PSLHS and worked for SLWCHS, so I know what I'm talking about. From what I've heard, the school has just gotten better since I graduated.
I am currently a freshman at fort pierce central and i am very happy. the teachers are great they have some strict rules but they're cool if you do your work. so if your planning to send your child to central you have chosen wisely
I am currently a senior at FPCHS and if you ask any of my current classmates what our first thought was upon being assigned to this school none of them would be good. We all now love this school though. While FPCHS does have a bad history it is now, in my belief, the best school in the county. There are none of your normal high school cliques and the last fight I remember was in my sophomore year. Our test scores are exactly the same as all other schools in the county, we have smaller class sizes, and four national certified classes. The only reason to dislike this school would have been its physical appearance, but it has been completely rebuilt with the highest technology possible. I am proud to be the saluditorian of FPCHS's 2009 graduating class.
I only attended FPCHS one year (My Freshman year) before being transferred to Port St. Lucie High School (where I am finishing my Senior year now,) and I can tell you honestly the Fort Pierce Central High is the most appalling school I have ever attended. I was lucky enough to be in the advanced classes, but I saw all the activities the occured day-to-day at the school. Every day I attended, I feared for my life and safety, and I saw the horrid way in which students and teachers interacted, with teachers often either being apathetic to students' will to learn, or negative and overly berrating to any sense of spirit or lack of Hive-mind. I implore any parents considering sending their children to FPCHS to consider their other options immediately. It is by no means a school of opprotunity, and in no way a safe haven for students.
