Profile Completeness

HONOR ROLL

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

This school has switched over to virtual classes at a private school tuition price which is owned by the current Head of Schools. Pural. Conflict of interest right there. Ask how many hours and classes your child will be taking virtual classes instead of with a full time teacher? Not just upper grades but lower grades as well. Free scholarships to increase student numbers this year does not make for a great academic education. Teacher turnover already this school year. Be careful, they sell you a product that just does not exist for a 21 century education except for new buildings which has nothing to do with education.

Please go visit the school and form your own opinion before believing the negative comments posted on this site. No school is perfect, but this one is pretty close. Our daughter previously attended both a public and a private school and neither of them could even begin to offer her what St. Andrew's has in the past year and a half. This school has a very bright future ahead of it and I'm happy that my child gets to be a part of it.

I would rate this school 0 stars if I could. As a former teacher at St. Andrew's I would advise to stay as far away as possible. The school and administration is sketchy. You do not want to work here and you do not want to send your kids here. The office/administration conveniently "misplaced" all of their former employee's info from their personnel files so that nothing could be recovered and sent to new employers. I also know that they never kept official, completed student records, so I'm sure these were also somehow "misplaced." Don't trust this school or what its staff is selling.

I am a new Upper School parent at St. Andrew's this year. My child enjoys going to school for the 1st time in his life. The students and teachers have been so kind and respectful. The class sizes are wonderful (between 12-18 students in each) so my child is no longer just a number like he was in the pubic school system. There is no other school (public or private) in St. Lucie County as great as this one.

As a grandparent with two grandchildren in this school for 6 years I will agree that there has been turmoil and constant changing of head of school. However, we are very heartened by the new direction taken by the current Head of School. Mrs. Angelone has to date lived up to every expectation we have and more importantly the Teachers at St. Andrews were and continue to be amazing in their dedication to the students not just to their education but also to their feeling of selfworth and belonging. We had almost made the decision to leave the school after the last change in Head of School but are so glad that we waited. Good things are happening at St. Andrews and we are happy our Grandchildren can be a part of that.

This school has been in turmoil for years! Anyone considering it needs to look beyond the surface to learn what is really going on here, and what you are getting for your money. There is no way this school deserves 4 stars. Parents & staff are encouraged to write in to give multiple stars so their rating goes up. They may be trying to develop program around the lagoon issues but the curriculum is weak. It is just a small public school except that religion is pushed on everyone, and not just christian values. Math scores are low and reading is barely above average, and only in 1-2 categories. Nobody talks about it to save their jobs and parents are afraid their options will be limited. Many classes have too few students. Some okay teachers but most are new since many left in droves. I couldn't wait to get out. The school is buying students with full scholarships to fill their new Upper School - too many IEP's! A new building is just that - a building. Think carefully before signing on and don't believe everything they tell you. The issues are not going away anytime soon.

My child is entering 10th grade next year at St. Andrew's. We recently met with the guidance counselor to sign up for classes and I am so excited! My child is going to have an opportunity to work closely with Smithsonian scientists, take sailing lessons, play sports, and get a top-notch college prep education. I would highly recommend that you check out this school if you haven't already.

I am a teacher at St. Andrew's and the comments below are not at all true. Our new Head of School, Trina Angelone, is amazing! Our school is in a the most stable state that it has been in our 45-year history. Enrollment is higher than it ever has been before. We are by no means a virtual school. We have iPads and MacBooks that we use to teach the children about technology. The teachers at St. Andrew's are engaging and the children learn through hands-on learning. I would recommend that you to go visit the school so you can see just how wonderful it is.

The headmasters' at this school change yearly...like a revolving door...very unstable and inconsistent. Be very careful as to the quality of education your child will receive at this institution.

It's a shame this school has changed from a very promising Christian independent school with caring teachers and staff into what appears to be a public virtual school. I suggest that you get a definitive answer from the administration on how many hours a week you student will be receiving instruction from a teacher and how many hours they spend sitting in front of a computer listing to videos. What a shame :(

Ask many questions before enrolling your child! Is this a public school under the guise of a private school? Do numbers mean more than quality? Is this a secondary outlet for the virtual school owned by the Head o School?

SAA, is falling into mediocrity education. I had my daughter there for 4 years waiting for them to give what they promise at the beginning "Exclusive Education", which never happen. Today the school again is facing a new Head Master. The Teachers are not quite qualify to teach, and they and the staff give donor parents more attention. Its a unfair school. :'(

We agree! St. Andrew s is an amazing school! Our son is now in his sixth year there and has loved every minute of it. From a parent s perspective, the teachers at St. Andrew s clearly invest a tremendous amount of time and energy providing an environment in which the children are not only comfortable, but willing to strive to reach their fullest potential. Their days are appropriately divided with a healthy balance of academics along with a variety of enrichments Spanish, Art, Christian Education, Music, Strings, Technology and Physical Education. St. Andrew s is successfully combining a 21st Century curriculum supported by the latest technology (all the children have access to an iPad and each room is equipped with a Smart Board) all while continuing to value what is important in a traditional education. From our child s perspective, all he knows is that St. Andrew s is the place he has been happy to get up and go to, day after day, for over five years because every day there is a good day!

What has remained constant in the past 3 years since our grandchildren enrolled in St. Andrew's, is the remarkable dedication of teachers and staff, to create a safe, enriching experience for each student. The teachers have taken differential learning to a new level blending technology, hands on lessons, group discussions, debate, and individualized instruction. It is a joy to know our grandchildren are with teachers who enjoy their work, and care enough about each student to continually challenge them and raise the bar of expectations. Whether it is the music teacher, the Spanish teacher, the art teacher, or their respective classroom teachers, our grandchildren report to us they feel loved and respected by their teachers. In turn, they have the highest praise for teachers and staff, and feel empowered to work hard on learning projects. Academically, our grandchildren are challenged, stimulated, and awed by their teachers. They want to go to school. I attribute our grandchildren's love of learning to the wonderful teachers at St. Andrew's. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, their dedication to the student, and mostly the warmth they exude. Thank you!

This school is amazing! They teach compassion which is where so many others schools are lacking. My son had attended 7 other schools both public and private before the 4th grade. I'm happy to say he will be starting his 4th consecutive year this year at St. Andrews.

St. Andrew's has been disappointing in every way. We stayed 3 years because we believed the promises - and because it is a convenient location. We now regret it very much. The school has a terrible reputation in the community. There is constant internal conflict which hurts the whole school A third head master in three years has just been hired. The board is incompetent. While the current pre-k through eight school is losing students and struggling with mediocrity they are adding a high school. And while all of this is going on tuition is going up.

St. Andrew's is a wonderful school. Both of my children have been successful at St. Andrew's. We have been a part of St. Andrew's for over 9 years and have seen many wonderful changes and improvements. My children are very different from each other, but both have found the environment engaging and love to go to school. I would highly recommend St. Andrew's.

This school has changed quite drastically over the past year. My son has been attending for three years and we chosen not to continue for the upcoming year. There has been so much change in the staff (and strife among staff) and although the "new direction" seemed promising initially, I have found the quality of the education has diminished while the tuition, fees, aftercare, etc... are increasing drastically. The curriculum seems to be on target; however, teachers are falling short of implementing. As a veteran parent, I have been very disappointed in the leadership change and feel it has compromised the overall well-being of the school. Finally, be wary of positive recommendations as this school now offers existing families $1000 off tuition for each new student they refer. If a school was worth attending, would such an offer be needed?

My daughter thrives at this school. Even in Kindergarten, the diversity of the academic and enrichment curiculum stimulates her and encourages her to work harder.

My daughter started first grade coming from morningside christian. That was a good school but it put alot of pressure on the kids to 'fit one mold' and ie. Do cursive writing in kindergarden! way to much at age 5! I am very involved with wanting my daughter to be 'educated'....St. Andrews goes a step beyond the last school in that i find it more balanced, well rounded and it is using the 'best practices' philosopy in educating children...Ie. To recognize each childs educational needs and meet those needs at whatever level...Instead of the 'old' fashion, outdated, lazy method of 'one' brand fits all. Also, although I am spiritual, it doesn't push religion into the classroom specifically. Rather my daughers teacher discusses being kind to eachother and good behavior. The faculty also is very open to discussing anything antime with a posiitive friendly attidute...Good communicators. Love the whole atmosphere.

My son is on his second year at St. Andrews and he loves it and so do I. Everyone, teachers, parents, principal and staff are wonderful when my son started it was in the middle of his 3rd grade year and every student in the class welcomed him with open arms and he has made many friends, and he loves going to school, the teachers are great with the kids and they all know all of the kids the principles door is always open to the parents and so are the teachers they are easy to talk to, My son is going into 5th grade this year and he will go their till he finishes 8th grade and he will go onto the high school if it is done by the time he finishes 8th grade, St. Andrews is like a family and its been wonderful to us

My 3 children have been educated at St. Andrew's Episcopal School since 1989. The staff & Head of School are dedicated & involved with our children. We have found our children to be sucessful in academics as well as life. St. Andrews has helped us raise our kids to be kind & compassionate, and strong in Academics. The facility is well maintained & safety is a priority.

My daughter has been at St. Andrews for 3 years now and our experience has been wonderful. The personal attention she recieves is second to none. The entire staff gives her the confidence she needs even though she sometimes struggles academically. My daughter says she wants to 'go there forever'!

What an outstanding school! I relocated from NY to Florida in the middle of the school year. My son entered the 5th grade at the time and had the warmest welcome from each and every student, the entire faculty and administrative staff. The personal attention each student receives is priceless! I highly recommend St. Andrew's to any parent. Your child will have a wonderful school experience. St. Andrew's has given my son a desire to learn and a better self-image. The entire staff is 100% dedicated and our children benefit. St. Andrew's is exactly what a school should be and MORE!
