I'm not impressed. My middle school child took it as a supplement this Summer. Maybe it was just his course, but alot of fluffy just to get to the information that was needed. For the first timers, they don't give enough information about what to expect, such as what the student will be discussing during their DBA with the instructor. My child had a difficult time with the first DBA, the instructor said she would email him what they would discuss and then they would try again. He waited a week and never heard anything. When I emailed the teacher she apologized profusely and said she had been innundated with emails and questions from students and had forgotten to do it. Ironically, the chapter my son had just started discussed committment and doing what you say you are going to do. She then told me that she technically wasn't supposed to email that info to the students. That's fine and good, but don't tell a 12 year old you are going to do something and then when you drop the ball start giving excuses. Very bad example for the kids. My honest opinion is that this is the State's way to save money on education. Getting away from brick and morter schools is a BAD idea

As a homeschool parent, we decided to supplement our homeschool highschool with FLVS. This was our first year using and we have been very impressed. The course selection is great. The classes themselves are challenging and engaging and the teachers do a very good job at keeping up with you as the parent and communicating with your child as well. I would readily recommend this to other homeschool families. One note of caution: the courses do take some time so don't overload yourself on too many courses.

This school has been a God-send for our family!!! I dont know what we would do with out it!!! My son has excelled in FLVS since he enrolled two years ago. He is now a happy, well adjusted 14 year old...which speaks for itself now days!!!!! We have loved all the teachers because of their care, concern and personal attention. Thank you FLVS!!!!

Florida virtual school is open to students that have internet and phone. For anyone needing flexible hours, one on one help, or those that are so advanced their board flvs is their school. It has caring teachers that give one on one attention to each student. Your childs safety, or school schedual is no longer at question because flvs can be done at any computer. Academics are what ever your child can handle, not what the school allows for their grade level. A big bonus is it is free! teachers and councel are available 24/7 to parent and student. Because of self pace extracurricular activities can be done at local schools. It's homeschooling with certified teachers.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.
