I love this school, but I wish they would end their corporal punishment policy. Paddling children in 2011 seems so archaic. This practice is very much in effect at this school.

What is cool about this school is that they do not let anyone that is not on a list that is provided by the parents and if they are on that list they have to show there ID card.If they don't have an ID card or if they are not on that list that person(s) is not allowed to even so much as see your child.Another great security thing they have that I noticed they are always given updates on sex offenders and always on the look out for them,So it seems to me that they happen to be doing there job well if you ask me.Also they get worried if they can't even find a teacher imagine what they would be like if could not find a child. So thank you to all for your dedicated work towards making sure that my and all other children are enormously safe.

Small school, parents are recognized by teachers and staff which makes it that more comfortable for all concerned. My only complaint would be that there is nothing done to recognize the teachers (i.e.: Teacher Appreciation Day) during the school year. Let's work on that!

I feel that this school needs better administration. There is a total lack of communication between the principal and parents. The principal is also not good at handling problems, she uses the ignore it and it will go away technique. I do feel that most of the teachers are good at their jobs and do care about the children.

I am concerned for the quality of instruction given the special education students at this school. I believe some classes are overcrowed and not adequate to meet student needs. Parents need to question IEP goals and question how they are being addressed. Parents must visit classes and stay on top of the level of instruction.

They have P.E. twice a week. They also rotate between music, art, and tech. lab. The teachers are good at communicating with parents. The school has monthly PTO meetings that the children preform at.

We moved to ft. White in 2001 from st. Petersburg fl, when we came into the school all the staff was wonderful and very inviting. After about 2 weeks the teacher called and informed us that our child was about 3 levels behind in reading and was having trouble, we had a conference and they set up an academic plan for her and this year (7th grade) she has been on the honor roll 2 times. The schools are great and the parent-teacher contact is great. I could tell after the first year that the teachers and staff are really doing this job because they truly care and not just for a paycheck. I have a child in the 2nd grade who started school at ft. White and she is getting a great education. Honor roll 5 times now.

I am a parent of a child that goes to school here and I am quite satisfied with the staff, teachers, reading and math programs. Historically you an't ask for a smaller twon with such high standards in the community. Several of the staff were born and raised in this area and appreciate how this school is run. My child has excelled in the computer, music and art programs. The teachers make it fun and exciting for the children and there are a lot of parents that are involved.
