Sweetwater Branch provides a great atmosphere for learning for each student. Small class sizes and individualized attention create success among the middle school students and a spirit of community. Kids are constantly pushed harder and challenged academically while fostering a sense of academic responsibility in preparation for high school. It is an excellent school with many opportunities for success.

I love this school , the teachers are great and Ms.FOrd is wonderful as well. The scores of this school speak for it.. The other schools that i live by are completely over filled and there is no discipline within these schools I dislike them .... but I do love this school

As one of the parents who initially wrote a very positive review, I have since changed my tune and pulled my daughter from the school. As long as she was on all the teams and doing well on them, she was golden. As soon as she quit a team, she was blamed for all sorts of things that she hadn't done and school became a miserable experience for her.

The school is very disappointing. The school is unfair to students in a sense that there is either bias/preferential treatment to high scoring students or racism. They recruit many good teachers, but can't keep them. The "parent" who submitted a post about the academic teams being fun lied. I ask my kid to stay in clubs to avoid paying after school care fees- apparently most do. The math/science was bad because the English of the teacher was difficult for my child. Thank god the book explained everything! Smalls schools have ups and downs. A down here would be the bullying/academics. An up is that it's so small, talk to admin enough and your kid will get away a fist fight with only a lunch detention! Just say youre pulling your kid out. Though really, you should. School is to learn, and i want my baby to succeed!

The positive reviews sound like they were written by the staff--beware. There are much better public schools in the area.

Last summer, I found an ad for a new school called Sweetwater Branch Academy and attended the open house. The school at that time was an empty office building -- no classrooms, just the enthusiastic staff members who would eventually build that school into what it is now. After listening to the teachers and staff discuss their vision for this new school specializing in mathematics and science, I knew this would be the perfect school for my child. And it was! This year went above and beyond my expectations. After one year at Sweetwater Branch Academy, my daughter is more confident, more competitive, and goal-driven. The teachers and staff are the most generous and devoted people I ve met, working late and on weekends to tutor, guide, and encourage the students in their endeavors. What an amazing first year and we have the awards and FCAT results to prove it!

The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
