The communication with the administration at East Bay High School is non existent. I don't know how many times I've called or emailed and nobody ever gets back with me. The teachers are pretty good about checking and answering emails, but the office staff is NOT!

east bay has to be 1 of the worst schools in the county. that has to be staff writing positive reviews make them look better. I've been in there in the 08,09 school year, half of the students were pregnant! again it is not the schools fault when they do it in the bathrooms the time it is. I was kicked out of school because 1 of the other students threaten me with a gun. when I talk to my mom she told me to talk with a school resource officer, and he said they told me to let it go is just gossip.. a couple days later when she saw that I told she brought a knife school and I was kicked out!!! they did not take her threatening me with a gun serious at all this is a bully school and if you are a bully go to the school... it was the worsts of my whole school high school experience.. bathrooms are disgusting hallways are disguisting-er. there is a perverted staff administrator named mr.tipton that touches female students when trying to break up fightes that is nasty nobody should have to go through that.

I am a student at East Bay and honestly i'm appalled by what people are saying on here. East Bay is an Amazing school and i love going there. All schools have issues like drug use and teen pregnancy. And if you parents think that isn't true you really do have on rose colored glasses. The people that say our kids can barely "read and spell" are you completely incompetent? Everyone knows how to read. And even if they didn't, it would be the HIGH schools fault. Where is the blame on the elementary schools who's only real job is to teach us to read? We have some of the best school activities you could ask for. Our wrestling went 22-5 last year and so far this year we're 6-0. Our Girls Flag Football has been district champs for the past 3 years and are ranked 20th in the WORLD! The softball team won the STATE championship last year. We had 7 Swimmers qualify for State this year. Our womens chorus has gotten Straight Superiors at STATE for the past two years. 9 times out of 10 the people that have something bad to say about my school are the ones that go to school and just come home everyday. They are the kids that don't have any sort of pride or school spirit.

I took my daughter to enroll her there 8-24-10 and right away notice how that the school staff is not prepared to handle and dicipline students. Yesterday, my daughter walked in for the first time there and saw 2 girls fighting, one of the teachers waited for them to finish and ask what is going on. One of the students started to blame the other using all kinds of curse words, what did the teacher said? OK now go to your class and don"t let it happen again. WHAT? The school my daughter comes from they would not put up with the lenguage alone, and even less with the fighting. On her class she had a girl that is pregnant and another that was showing pictures of her baby. My daughter is an Honor Student on 9th and was supposes to take pre-calculus, not in this school...

All these bad reviews are are unbelievable! Yeah all schools have bad quality's, But EAST BAY HIGH is a GREAT school! Not only are the teachers amazing at teaching but they are also very friendly and are there whenever you need them. I just graduated from here this yr, and i loved it there. Its really stupid how somebody said "this school is for rappers, and pregnant teens" um no. Any school, SOME teen girls will end up getting pregnant. This school is a great school to go too, && yeah no student is left behind, the Staff and faculty are there WHENEVER you need them. (:

As a former student of East bay and now a parent i can only say this school is horrible. unless your child is considered lower than average. Teachers here only teach on the lowest possible level (no child left behind) So there is no drive to push your students. I would recommend you send your child elsewhere. This is the school you expect your son to drop out of or your daughter to get pregnant. Definitely a real "ghetto" school. But the bright side is if your want your son or daughter to major in recreactional drug use, becoming a rap star, or being professionally pregnant i would recommend this school!!

Both my daughter's attended East Bay. I would never send my kids to this school again. Not enough staff, dirty, drug problem, poor leadership. I do recommend the ROTC program. My daughter which is still in High School actually asked me if she can go to a different school.

I think it's the administration that is writing positive things to look good to the superintendent. Because my 15 year old son hates it here. The administration is horrible, my son never met the guidance counselor and they even place kids in honors classes that can barely read!! Mainly laziness on the administration part. On top of that there's a fight in school once a day and police cars called weekly. The school was defined 'ghetto' for a reason. We are moving our children to Plant in South Tampa. We're tired of the rudeness of the office staff there who can care less about your children.

I currently attend East Bay High School and the only problem with it is that it is extremely dirty.

Pretty average school. It has a few very bad teachers, and a few very good ones, but most are somewhere in between. As far as the administration goes, it could be a lot better. East Bay tends to have a reputation for being a 'ghetto school.' One year at a cheerleading competition, a few cheerleaders from an opposing school asked one of East Bay's cheerleaders if it was really a 'ghetto' school. That's East Bay's reputation.

As a parent of a graduate from East Bay and a Senior getting ready for graduation from East Bay, I can say that it has been an excellent school as far as the education my children have both received. Sometimes the office staff can be a bit challenging, but for the most part I am very happy with the programs offered and the excellent care that was given to each of my students individually. You don't see this in a lot of public schools anymore....

Having graduated from East Bay I can truly say that it gets a bad reputation in the county that it does NOT deserve! The teachers are amazing and really get excited about their subjects! The choral program is the best! When I was in the program we constantly got superior ratings at state competitions. Also, the AP and honors courses offered at East Bay are top-notch and really prepare you for what to expect in college. Now that I have graduated and am going to school to become a teacher I have subed throughout Hillsborough county and can say, with much experience, that East Bay High School is one of the best in the county! Parents would not believe what goes on at other schools.

This school has improved alot in the last two years. I think alot has to due with the fact 2 new schools opened up plus they have a principal who cares very much.

There was some improvement with overcrowding improvement when Leonard opened however I still feel that the student/teacher ratio should be lower to improve academics and discipline. My daughter is in 11th grade so this is the third year that I ve met many teachers, counselors, and principles. Based on my experiences it seems that teachers do care (most of the time) about their students and usually make an effort to teach (since it is their job). After parents, teachers have the most precious job in the world (influencing and teaching our youth). Although, they are doing a good job I do feel there is room for improvement. The biggest improvement at East Bay needs to be with the counselors, secretaries, principles. If, in fact, everyone is that overworked then additional staff needs to be hired.

I am glad to see that the school has changed since a new high school opened. However, I think more attention needs to be given to the mediocre job the guidance counselors give to the students. I understand there is less time since we now have regular scheduling instead of block, however, I think they need to complain less and just do their job. The teachers deal with it very well, so why can't the counselors? I think the guidance resource specialist for the seniors needs to be more pro-active.

I went to East Bay, and I hated it. The people there were unfriendly to people who they didn't know very well, and all they did was judge and stereotype. The teachers did an okay job teaching.
