I have been employed at Shell for 22 years. Students, staff, parents and the community are proud of this school. We're not perfect, but in our eyes we 5 stars out of 5. Our teachers are the best in the world. Our principal is deligently making gains. Thank you to all who have stepped on our grounds, please continue to be involved. --Respectfully.

I live in Hawthorne all 3 of my kids have attended and is attending Shell Elementary .I love the school it's small but my kids have done great things at Shell. I choose one time to send my kids to a Elementary school in Gainesville and it was the worst choice i ever made. Both my older kids were retained because the classes were to large, the teachers didn't not have the time to spend working with them individualy. Ibrought them back to Shell and they learned and they received the attention they needed and if anything was going on I was sure to be notified right then not when it was to late to help my kids achieve the goals the needed to reach.

I am a former staff member at Shell and All of my children attended there. I think Shell is a wonderful school. The principal, teachers and staff are caring and strive to make available to all students a well rounded education. I love the fact that it is a small school and am proud to have been a part of it and to have had my children attend there. God Bless

I am an employee at Chester Shell Elementary School. Our staff is committed in educating boys and girls. Parents must become more involved. Children are entering school not knowing how to write, most don't even know how to hold a pencil properly, They don't know the basic skills; colors, shapes, ABC's, parts of the body and more. Most chidren are not taught how to sit at a desk and learn. They have no attention span. Parents must start taking time with their children beginning at birth. Read to your children. Teach your children how to write their name.

This school has been a big disappointment. It is probably fine for most kids, but our first grader needs one on one learning opportunities which have not been available. The school has combined the classes 1st and 2nd grades are in the same classes therefore it makes a more difficult senario for one on one and my child is not doing well at all since she started there. I would not recommened this school if your child has any kind of learning difficulties at all!

Shell Elementary has a staff that works as a community. It is nestled in a small town where everyone knows eachother. This can be good and bad. It struggles with having a high percentage of students that are from low socioeconmic backgrounds. Which is a challenge for the teachers. All in all I believe that the teachers in staff have only good attentions with providing an education for the students.
