I spent a great deal of my childhood, and adolescence at Edison. The teachers were always very professional and wise, but at the same time, young and fun they always inspired me and challenged me in more ways than one. At Edison, students are treated like family. It is a place where you don t just make friends for a while you make friends for a lifetime. The school offers many extracurricular activities and AP classes for qualified students. There are also various clubs which you could join, including Drama, Year Book, Student Government, Computer Club, etc. You also have the opportunity to get involved with the community and enhance your academic portfolio through various other programs. Today, I have an exquisite education and one heck of a career! I am currently pursuing my Master s from the University of Florida and I have the extraordinary teachers at Edison to thank for instilling in me confidence and mentoring me all along. Today, I feel prepared to face all of life s challenges thanks to the unprecedented education I received at Edison Private School. Go Eagles!
I attended Edison a few years ago and I am saddened to say that my experience was not a good one. The staff, at the time of my attendance, was rude, unprofessional, and overall unfit to be mentors. The wealthier students were definitely favored amongst the staff, and teachers had no problem making their private lives known to all students and staff members alike. If you refused participate in their ridiculous traditions (Jose Marti parade) not only were you penalized academically but ostracized as well. The curriculum is sub par when compared to that of other schools, and although I was an A student while at Edison, I struggled to catch up with new material when I enrolled in honors classes in a public school. There are other private and public schools in the area with a more rigorous and well-rounded curriculum. If you are unconvinced by my review, let the bad grammar and spelling in other alumni reviews serve as evidence that this school is horrible.
Impressed with the administration the professional credentialed teaching staff and the opportunity my children have to attend an accredited private school in Hialeah. The established success of its alumni and their involvement in the school's community is outstanding and a benefit. Edison is a private traditional school with a 21st century curriculum that challenges my children to improve in all areas. Furthermore the cost of a quality education and the safety the school provides to all students is priceless. I am a very satisfied parent involved in my child's academic success. All parents with students attending Edison should take an active role in their child's success. The principals door is always open.
Edison Private is a one of a kind school. The teachers and staff go out of their way to help you with all your child's needs . My child has attended since Pre-K and will be graduating this coming year . The communication is excellent I am aware of how my child is moving forward academically . I would recommend this school to all parents who truly are involved with their child's education .
The newly administered Edison no longer measures up in quality education and/or experienced teachers in order to justify a private tuition. They have poor communication with the parents, useless mid-term progress reports that do not provide a grade average. The only indication that a student is doing poorly is after the report card is issued with a D or lower in order for the parents to pick up at the office (Dade/Broward schools have better and up to date communication w/parents via electronic system). Edison observes all public holidays, has multiple planning/teacher works days, as well as vast amount of education-less field trips that take place throughout the year, it s no wonder the children manage to get any education worth the private tuition. If you're planning to spend your hard earn money to place your child in Edison, I would find better alternatives or save your money and keep them in the public school system. The NEW Edison only seems to be concerned with registering students that qualify for government grants and cutting costs by hiring inexperienced or poorly qualified teachers who barely speak English or just graduated from college.
This school is not accredited. This school is terrible. Teachers are not accredited by the State of Florida. They do not have Saacs accreditation . When they say they are accredited- I looked in their website- I don't know who accredits them. This school is a joke. There are better private schools for your money. Or even a public school will offer your student a better opportunity. The Principle didnt even have a masters degree. The school takes off a ton of days just to prepare for a parade. This school is just a bad investment.
I used to go to school in pre-k and i dont remember the teacher she was an old lady but very nice but my yellow school bus driver's nane was Isabelle she had yellow hair i dont know if she still is a bus driver or she retired for sure the teacher retired i was in edison from 1999-2000 now im a freshman in college im 19 already i remember i was the obly mexican there the majority was cubans.
This school is a scam,my daughter has a13pound book bag when she ask is she can put things in her locker her teacher said no, we buy the school supplies for the teachers 3packs of copy paper and they deny a paper & so she ask the students in the class that if anyone can give this annoying kid a paper , teacher don't respect the students .the school rules are change every year and Electives they don't have all they have is music and they charge $60 a week and go for once a week for one hour there's better school and there public school don't put you kids in this school your kids will not learn AND I GAVE IT A ON STAR BECAUSE IT WON'T LET YOU RATE IT LESS THEN ONE STAR
Edison Private is an "Amazing School" !! This school provides individualized attention for all their students . As a parent , I am happy I have found a well rounded education for my daughter ..
Im a graduate from edison private school. Class of 08!! Lets hear it!! Lol woot woot, my years at edison were the best years of my life! I was known by my name by who I was I wasnt just another student with an id number. When I needed help teachers will always find sometime to help me and others as well, all of the teachers are certified for all those fake accusations.. (someone must of been having a bad day to post such lies!!) edison is like my second family, they offer all type of extra curricular activities like with the sports which is a BIG thumbs up with me :) lol they got basketball (boy & girls), volleyball (boys & girls), football, baseball, dance , cheerleading (yes cheerleading is a sport lol ) .... Edison offers students to have the dual enrollment program which is great two of my class mates graduated with only a couple of their credits missing to finish their associates degree. If I had to do my school years again id soooooooo do it in edison :).. When jr. is born he/she is definitely going to edison
I attended this school a couple of years ago and so did my sister. The school does favor certain students and parents. I don't believe they hire 'real' teachers that do not have enough experience teacher or aren't good teachers at all. Since the school is small they don't allow for student to receive additional curriculum and extra curricular activities and other benefits they would be allowed to receive in a bigger private school or even in a public school. I would definitely never enroll my kid in that school.
hi i am a student here at Edison Private School and i've been in this school since preschool and i am currently attending 7th grade i love it and i never want to leave. it is great
Don't listen to any negative add's. i have attended this school for all my life and never had one day when i have hated the school. we have lots of extra acctivites. we range from basketball to football. we have aswell a music class which is free. it has violin to chelo and viola.. as well as guitar classes. if ur a parent and want your child to have a productive future don't think twice about sending your child to Edison Private School.
I've been in this school for about 6 year and I've loved the entire experience that I've had at Edison. The above negative reviews are probably of parents or students that are problematic/have problematic children and their experience has not been the same. Regardless, the school is a great school. I personally believe the high school is the best area in the school. The teachers are dedicated, and the students work on necessary core subjects and don't waste time or do 'free' days like it was said.
I completely agree with the review from November 23, 2008. My daughter is in this school and I'm taking her out of there. She is in Kinder now, so the problem is not only the higher grades. There is a big issue with favoritism in this school. They only give attention to kids if the parents make good gifts or the kids parents work in the school. If you are not in the favorite group, your kid won't get anything. Activities are awful. And parents know what I mean. They charge you for things they don't provide. It's awful. Public schools are better.
I was a student in this school and I can honestly say its a very bad school. all the staff cares about is money. its all about favoritism. worst of all there's more free days then actual work days if you get what I mean. the day care and 1st to about maybe 6th game is better but the higher the grade is the worse the school is. The worst is the high school. I was in the high school for sometime and I still have friends that attend that school so they tell me everything that goes on. So if you're thinking of putting your child in that school, don't.
The quality of academic programs are great. I think these programs can prepare you for life in collage. theres alot of extracurricular activities. you feel like ur rite at homw with this skool. parents involve them self alot but theres parents tha dont.
