Our school, whose formal name is Young Men's Academy for Academic and Civic Development at Miami Douglas MacArthur North, has dedicated teachers and administrators who do everything they can to make the place seem less like the alternative school it is and more like a regular school, even though we cover 6th through 12th grades and all boys. Plus, our varsity football team, which fields only 16 players on average, has had a terrific season so far, having won six out of seven games...the best its done since I went to work there in Oct., 2006.
