I WAS going to send my child to this school but I couldn't get anyone on the phone to get information. Looks like that was a blessing in disguise.

the communication between teachers and parents is non existent! if you ask to speak to the Principal she is never available to speak to you as a parent! The teachers do little to motivate the students and are not very flexible in the approach they take with the children.

I think Mater lakes academy is an average school . They don't have the best teahcers there, nor the worst either. If i had to recommend any school it would be Bob Graham Education Center Hialeah Gardens Middle school or Mater academy. when you call the school , they never pick up either, send you're child to one of the schools recommended,

Why doesn't anyone ever answer the telephone(s) at this school? I have called there over the years and dial every extension from the office to administration to the cafeteria! I find this to be a hazard, what if there is an emergency????

I love because its first comminment is that the Kids Learn. They constantly fight very hard to give the students the best education they can.

I love Mater Lakes Middle because it is a small environment school. The number of kids in each grade are less and this helps the kids have a more on one to one basis with their teachers. Also, the education level is much higher than a regular public school.

Ms. Or Mr. be realistic, the school is not amazing, could do better and probably will during the next couple of years. For me is avove the average, not amazing - unless you use another country as reference.... thats another story. Compare apple with apple.

There isn't as many extracurricular activities as there should be. The FCAT peprally was terrible! Eevn though Power 96 was there, it did NOTHING AT ALL to motivate students to do well on the FCAT and was for a maximum of 15 minutes. Not even the cheerleaders performed! All they did was sit down and listen to some girl who dressed like a boy. What message is this sending out to our children? Be a boy if your a girl? This school is very disorganized: My child did not get a barcode on her student ID and the office did nothing to fix it. Also, sixth graders do not change classes or have electives. This isn't fair. But overall the school is clean, but they need mre PE equipment. The cafeteria is fairly big & staff is very friendly.

Awesome! There is no other school like this one! Sure, they don't get electives in middle school, and the direction of the main office is terrible, but you can live!
