Be sure that if you enter your child in this school, that you have time to be fully involved in your child's education because you will be spending much of your time correcting the nonsense that is being taught. From Homework assignments on Great Americans covering people that are not American such as Nelson Mandela to propaganda like petitions that teachers have children collect signatures during school hours on Gun Control, with promise that the President will see their signatures. If they get enough kids to sign.Eighth graders are treated as small children by forcing teachers to walk kids to and from lunch as well as silent lunch. Not to mention the schools policy to punish all children for some that are caught conversing during their silent lunches. They take away Field days and events as their punishment. The few events(dances) that they have, are during class time.Students are forced to pay to attend, which knocks the reward for a well behaved child out,if the parent cannot afford to pay $5or $6more for their child to get out of class for about 40minutes.This school has some serious issues to address if they want to get kids to have some school spirit and interested in excelling.
I love this school. It's totally great. I've had so much fun here this year. It's unbelievable
My experience with Mcnicol was just great. The teachers involvement and professionalism was remarkable. My son attended all 3 years of the Magnet program and we were not disappointed. The Principal, Mr. Hamm, the beat. Do not hesitate to send your children at this school. Just remember you have to do your part as a parent, because success starts at home.
McNicol is the best school I've ever attended the staff is polite and the teachers are awesome
My daughter attended McNicol Middle School for three years and graduated at the top of her class last year. It is an excellent school. The administration and teachers were extremely supportive and caring. The staff was always available to resolve any problems that my daughter encountered. We wish McNicol continued success.
My daughter goes to this school. Its a great school. She is in the language magnet program, and she is almost fluent in japanese.
I feel that McNicol Middle School is an excellent school but lacks resources
Ithink that the school is a good school. I feel that the primnciple works hard to reach the students. The teachers are hard workers.
I am a student at mcnicol middle and i feel that mcnicol has improved alot over the years i hhave been here .I mainly have improved in reading because of the great teaching of my reading teacher Ms.Dager i appreciate you thanks.
Mc Nicol Middle School is the best school that I ever been to ,I wish it was 6 to 12 grades beacause I am an 8 grader
I'm currently a student at McNicol and it doesn't interest me.However to my perspective this school is a school of great oppurtunity. The program that they have of science and language is awesome. Each student in the magnet program is able to take either science or language as a course at least twice a day.Ive only been at McNicol for a year now and already I am able to decipher a lot of spanish. The sports teams there is unbeatable and the teachers are of quality. Though McNicol has turned into a D school but I think its the students faults for barely caring. One of the reasons why I don't like this school is because its not that safe to me(to many incidents) and I feel that the current magnet coordinator is to strict.
I have been at McNicol for 3 years, this being my last, and overall it's a well balanced facility. The teachers do what they aim to do, and the students learn along with that intention. We have imporved drastically in the past few months and hopefully this will continue.
I went to this school last year and it was raw! we were the best year yet!we all danced at the dance at the end of the year,we treated the field trips like we were living for our lasts day and to cherish every bit of it.Mr.Eames and burgess&turner were the realist!oh and o'john was a great math teacher, she was the ojizzle. And ms.Johnson was raw too,go ahead girl!
I go to this school and I have to say that the teachers are really rude. Some kids are lucky and get a teacher who cares for their education but about 75% dont care at all.
Mcnicol is a bad school for students. My child has the worst teacher who never helps him with his work.
McNicole is a great school with new leadership. The teachers care and are completely involved in the school and the students. However the parents do not participate in their childrens education.
McNicol Middle School is a very diverse school. It has two wonderful magnet programs, science/pre-engineering which gives students the opportunity to participate in hands on field trips and class projects. And the IAB magnet which allows students to learn either japenese, spanish, or french and the countries culture. The school also has school sports. With its year round schedule it allows students to get a break every three months.
