Gateway Environmental K-8 Learning Center

After much hassle, I finally have my two children set up for success in this school. My oldest son failed his grade at his previous school. Gateway insisted on promoting up when he was enrolled there to keep him from feeling bad. He wasn't ready and his teachers insisted he be put back. School did nothing. My youngest starting K was already reading chapter book and doing basic multiplication and division. His teacher refused to do anything with him, but wanted him in her class because she didn't have to pay attention to him. She had 36 students and wanted one she didn't have to do anything with. I requested he be moved to another class once she flat out told me this. I finally snapped 6-weeks into the school year an informed the school of my intent to homeschool my boys. I was even going to quit my job to do it. They had my boys in bad situations and wouldn't fix it. I got a call from the principle at 8 pm that night asking how she can help me. She then informed me they did not want to loose my youngest son because he'll bring their test scores up. I told he what I needed. The next morning, my oldest son was put back a grade and my youngest was moved into an advanced K class.

Great ! Great! School, the staff gets 5 stars, everybody goes an extra mile for the students, there is one thing i will like to see, is the enforcement of the uniform and badge on the shirts of the students it will do sinerg a if the ones that represent the School with honor and respect are rewarded, maybe just recognized, this will make the others want to ware the uniform and badge. Another issue, the sport teams, it is important for the students to have the football, baseball, basketball teams!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this school. They have been wonderful and my son is doing Great thanks to the teachers and administration. I am very pleased and couldn't ask for better

The scholl is nice the teachers are great. the only bad thing I can say is all of the staff should be able to speak english. there are people who work there that can't. I feel that is unfair to my children to have to deal with adults that are angry because they cant speak the language. This is america people.

Brand new, much needed school in Homestead. Wonderful Administration and staff. My child loves getting up extra early every day to go to her school! School is new, safe, clean. Communication excellent with all in staff. Staff very involved and positive.
