Wait until you have seen the improvement in attendance and achievement (FCAT). Homestead Middle is the best middle school in the south end.

The best thing to do while being in homestead middle is to be in the Jazz band and in gifted. The band has been ranked superior for many, many, years and the marching band is so excellent that many people think that we are a high school band.

The great thing about being in Homestead Middle School was being in Band and Gifeted. The Gifted teachers are really great and parent-friendly, they really know how to teach gifted kids. The band has been ranked superior for years and thats because of the superior band director.

Since this school has a magnet program, we expected our son to be in a quality school. Wrong!! The teacher for the magnet program was exceptional, but that was basically the only teacher that could be classified as a good teacher. Some of the other teachers were 'ok' if they could speak English that everyone could understand. Our son had a math teacher who spoke with such an accent, that students could not understand her. I asked her a question during open house and I have no idea of her response. When my husband spoke to her on the phone he had to tell her he could not understand her and she actually became upset and said she did not speak with an accent! This is just an example of the incompetent teachers at this school. (Another teacher actually told us a report on NASA was not a scientific topic?)
