I am a parent of two current student and one former students at Peskoe, and what I seeing is a school that has worked very hard for the past last year under a great principal leadership is falling into ruins. I do give credit to those teacher that takes their time to work hard and beyond, like Ms. Campbell, Ms. Killingworth, Ms. Thorpe, Ms. Blalock and of course our assistance principal Dr. Bleus.
I have enjoyed working with students for 30 years. To insure a good education, we must continue to get good teachers and staff. The only way to do this is to pay well, and provide enough resources even in these times.
My children attend what I consider to be the best elementary school in Homestead. My oldest has attended for 4years and loves to go to school. Exceptional teachers include: Ms. Guillen, Ms. Mizerany, Ms. Killingsworth and Ms. Herandez (just to name a few) Any time you have a problem go in and ask for Mr. Garcia, he will help you quick and is willing to take the time to listen. The only fault in the school is that it does not have a playground for my 1st grader.
Office staff is the best you will find in Miami-Dade County. I love the teachers Ms. Baker is the best. I also appreciate the great P.E. Department. Parents should see what a great job they do on field day.
I really like this school. My children just started and the teachers seem to really care about them (esp. Ms. Thorpe-Kindergarten). The front office staff is very nice too. My children are having a great time.
I love the school. I have my child inPeskoe since Kinder and now he is in 3rd grade. The only complaint I would have is the lack of educational field trips. I don't know why the school doesn't organize this events (like museums, parks, zoo etc..) It would be awesome for the children's education and it will promote more parent envolvement. PTA needs more organization.
i love it! if there is to much traffic wake up earlier by minutes you beat the rush of ppl! i think its awesome!!! i have to girls attending peskoe and thier teachers are so nice and helpful!!!!!! thanks mrs.merino and mrs. hernandez!!!
This scholar year 2006-2007 it has been upside and downs. At the beginning of the school year the former principal has not encourage at all the discipline between students to the educators and between students as well. Because of this the new principal is having a very hard time to make the discipline part of the education in this school. The traffic in the front of the school at the time of withdrawal is very poor and disorganized. But in reference of the educators they are doing a excellent job, I think is the only thing good for now in this school.
The teachers I have entrusted with the education and well being of my children are Ms. Puentes, Mr. Valdes, Ms. Stevenson and Mrs. Weisfeld. I am beyond pleased with these teachers. The assistant principal, Ms. Latta (Latte) has been extremely helpful as well, in getting my special needs child what he is entitled too. The only complaint I can speak of is the lack of field trips and interaction between the new principal and parents, as well as the new principal with the students.
Great Teachers very experienced, Friendly Office staff very nice building and very clean.
