Hudson High School (JOKE OF THE DAY) GOOD PLACE TO TAKE YOUR KIDS FOR A FUN TIME!!!!
Yes, isn't the JROTC program great..How sad it is NOT available to all students who do have the interest. ESE students are not allowed to join the JROTC, but then again, they are the "Island Dwellers" in Hudson High School, not allowed beyond their isolated area. No this school is NOT great, especially if you have a child with learning problems. The Hudson School systems thrives on labelling students learning disabled, even when they do have the ability to learn and they will never know what being in a "Regular" class is like...but they a great little moneymakers for the schools. How do students make an effort to learn and do their best, when they are told they will never learn and after four years of high school the best they will receive is a Special Diploma, which isn't worth the paper it is written on. Students in regular classes are the geese who lay the golden eggs, they are the ones the schools ratings are based on...Do not think for a minute if you have a student in the ESE program that you will ever have a chance of placing them in another school who will be willing to teach and bring them up to grade level..Pasco makes sure that will never happen.
Absolutely wonderful so far. The JROTC program is great and students are very involved in helping out in the community. AP and Honors teachers are very engaged and care for their students. As with any High School, students must make an effort to learn and do their best. Regular classes may have students that are not as interested in learning but then again that is with all schools. Overall, a great school with a caring staff/faculty.
Hudson High is such a huge part of this community. We are always making strides to improve the lives of our students and families. This school has educated generations of families that still live within this community.
The faculty does a great job of being supportive to each other and to the students. Just recently one of our faculty members had a baby and the baby had complications which prevented them from being able to take him home. Everyone in the faculty was extremely supportive and sent prayers and gifts. This is just one of many reasons our school is great.
I have taught at Hudson High School for the last 8 years. The faculty and staff are dedicated in improving the school in all ways. Many graduates return to Hudson including administrators, teachers and staff to create a family environment. It's a great place to be!
I graduated from Hudson High School and can honestly say that I had a wonderful 4 years there. The school has a bad reputation but the teachers of the AP and Honors classes are absolutely amazing. I was accepted to the University of Florida my senior year among many other Florida schools. I began my freshman year with 12 credit hours already completed because of the great AP and dual-enrollment courses offered at HHS. I was a cheerleader for three years also and loved it! This school is great and gets 5 out of 5 stars from me!
I like my school. This is my first year here and the I'm enjoying my freshmen year. My teachers are good, my guidance counselor Mr. I is cool and the principal is okay. The students are all different but everyone seems to get along.
I think that the staff at HHS is doing a great job. As a parent I appreciate the weekly upsdates from the principal by phone. It helps me keep up with things that are happening there. My daughter is a junior. The teachers do whatever they can to make sure that kids are successful.
Overall Hudson High School is a Great school! Of course it isn't perfect but, what school is? Dual enrollment is wonderful!
The curriculum is decent, the classes moderately challenging. Unfortunately, most classes, no matter what their designation (Honors, A.P., Dual Enrollment) slow down their lessons to pander to the slowest in the classroom along with the students with discipline problems. This, unfortunately, causes the quality of the education to decrease. The only redeeming aspect of Hudson High School is the dedicated teachers who make the best out of a bad situation and teach the students who want to learn.
I went to Hudson my freshman and junior year but I'm currently @ River Ridge High School. I had a great experience and a lot of fun at Hudson its a great school. I loved the fact that classes were indoor. Homecoming week and Pep Rally are a lot of fun because everyone participates... There are different groups of people like cliques but everyone knows each other and get along. HHS is a good school in my opinion. I wish I never left
I am getting ready to be a senior at HHS and I can truly say that I love this school and it has been a great experience for me in these last 4 years. However, last year I was given a teacher who introduced me to college level work, responsibility and a very meaningful American History curriculum. I remember more of his class than I do any other one I have taken. Yes, I can admit I started the year off with an
Hudson High School is a decent school. I have fun there. However, I think that is the problem. The school is too much of a push-over with the kids. I think they should have a stricter discipline poilcy!
This is my daughter's first year at this school, but I have found it to have been a great experience. Most of her teachers have been very open and communicative, and all her classes have been stimulating and challenging.
I am a senior at HHS. I have gotten an excellent education at this school. Many of the teachers here are among the best in the district. Participation is low in some areas for several reasons. For one, the procedures for funding mandated by our state gov't are absurd. In addition, our school serves a very low socio-economic area and therefore must provide more lower level/remedial classes. Many kids who would participate in other activities have after-school jobs to help support their families. However, I can state from experience that more involved students do have those options, and most of the teachers here are glad to spend extra time to help them.
I am a relative of student getting ready to graduate from this school and am appalled at the quality of education he is receiving. Getting an 'A' is totally meaningless because the grades are so inflated. Students at this school do not participate in the science fair or other academic programs where students can get great experience.
