We have been extremely happy with the accelerated pace of the magnet curriculum. It may be difficult for some children to keep up with the homework that is due weekly. There are several projects during the year as well as weekly spelling and math tests. They emphasize creative writing. In KG, they have already covered addition, subtraction and are carrying over now. Math word problems were introduced in the first half of the year. Children take home a reading folder every week and read books at their own level. Overall, the academics are far superior to other public and private schools. The area is not a very safe looking neighborhood but my child has not encountered any problems with fighting or bullying. There are very few extracurricular activites offered so these must be supplemented elsewhere. The teachers go above and beyond to ensure that each child is challenged.

RV Daniels is an awesome schools academically, and it provides a safe, nurturing enviroment for students, and welcomes all parents to become active participants in the education of their children.

My daughter has been attending since kindergarden and loves it. She is in 3rd grade and the Montesori curriculum is well suited to her learning style. The entire staff seems to have a deep commitment to the childrens. The before and after school programs allow for academic advancement, not just 'Baby Sitters'. The Classroom enviroment lets children progress above grade level and promote a true enjoyment of learning.
