I pulled my kids out of this school this year. Although there are some great teachers, there is little to no parental support from most parents and the discipline problems in this school are getting worse every year. The kids know that they will not be disciplined at home or at school so why obey the rules......Parents need to stop making excused for their kids and step up and be PARENTS! Best decision we made was getting our children out of there!

My grandchildren go to Brookview and I am very impressed with the parent's involvement at this school. Every event is standign room only. They also have an outstanding group of teachers and the principal is fantastic.

Brookview is among the elite schools in the Jacksonville area. If your children attend this school you are extremely lucky to live in this school district.

Me, my husband and my sister all went to Brookview. Now our son is in 2nd grade here. I think it's doing well. It's an A school for a reason. They have art, music and PE. If you don't like it, try for the magnet program. We are.

This is our first year at Brookview and although we have a wonderful teacher the school itself is lacking. I have been disappointed with the fact that there is a school nurse available only one day a week. They are trying to improve but are lacking. They need more funds.

This is the best school i've went to.

My son is in the 2nd grade and has another wonderful teacher but like another parent noted, the school lacks in a lot of areas. I'm not happy with the school in many areas but when parents are involved, they have more control of their kids learning. I think certain teachers at the school shouldn't be teachers. I've had problems with the office staff and the school has changed for the worse.

Brookview used to be a wonderful school yet w/ the change of principal this year it has lost alot. The staff semm very non chalant when you have a problem. They do not want to take the time to call a parent back or try to resolve what is happening.

My son is attending Brookview in 3rd grade this year. In comparison to other schools in the county that he attended, I am not impressed. He does not have one field trip this year, and they seem to be very FCAT and FCAT only focused. They are seriously lacking in extracurricular activities, as well as any outdoor equipment for the children. Bare bones education.

My son has been at Brookview for 2 years and it has been a wonderful experience. The academic programs are wonderful as well as the enrichment activities. As with many things I feel that the parent involvement could be better but I think that is every where. I love the attention that he gets and he is a very well known student by many teachers not just his own. I know that is I call the principal or his teacher I will get a prompt response.

The teachers and support staff take great care in providing a safe and caring atmosphere of learning. They provide our kids with all the tools necessary to prepare them for a bright future. They help the students set and achieve goals while nurturing their strengths and providing assistance in their weak areas. Each child is made to feel special and loved while they receive the best possible education our public school system has to offer.

My children have been at Brookview for 3 years now. They have accelerated in thier learning tremendously, however I feel that the outdoor time could be improved for kindergarten students. They have to play on a 'baby' playground and my opinion of that is they are no longer in preschool once they reach elementary age and my kindergarten child resents the fact that his older brother gets to play on the 'big' kid playground when he is just as cooridinated as him. It really makes him not like school that much because he feels like he's being treated as a baby. Another issue is the library and the use of the computers. Kindergarteners are not able to play on them at all or go on field trips. I think that these things are important for this age.

Academic programs seem to be top notch, I am a bit concerned about the ESE students being isolated in a seperate area. Extra curiicular activities are emcouraged and provided. Parental involvement is high.

I am very happy with my daughter's kindergarten teacher there. Any time I write a concern, I get a reply the next day in writing or a phone call.

Brookview is where my ESE son attends. So far he's had a great experience, his teacher, Sam Commander, is superb.

My children really loved thier teachers at this school. The extracurricular activities were lacking, the academic programs could be better, but the teachers themselves are very nice and they work with you concerning your children's progress on a fairly regular basis.

Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
