Teacher effectiveness: Neutral

It depends entirely on the teacher, but the teachers are limited greatly by the curriculum and administration. If given a bit more freedom, some of these teachers could be truly inspiring and effective (unlike the principal).

Amount of homework: Disagree

Teachers who use their time in class wisely know by the end of the day whether their students are grasping the material, because they've already practiced the work. Most of the time, the lessons are slowed down and stretched to fill time throughout the day. Tasks that take 10 minutes are stretched to 30, and the kids are bored! Then the teachers tell the kids to go home and spend 30 minutes on i-Ready, read for 30 minutes, and do 45 minutes worth of homework. They should be doing this in class!

Develops character: Strongly disagree

There is no school wide plan to promote any kind of behavior or character traits, positive or negative. The administration is sorely lacking in leadership skills.

Reviews are mentioned to share one's experience with what or who they are writing about. This school is good for the structure it had and that clearly shows of their leadership. The Principal Graham is excellent in every facet of taking care of our children and listening to concerns of the parents. Children are in a safe and clean environment. But she cannot babysit teachers which is where the negative review begins. Moving to this city has challenges and the biggest is school aged children. If your child is going or in the higher grades of 4 and 5th, do not put or keep them here. The teachers are of the lowest teacher in mankind. They degrade children, and simply put, can't teach a fly. Your child will not be prepared to move unless parents or guardians supplement and or stay on these teachers. I have had to correct their grading of items, incorrect math problems with no possible solutions and their overall lack of teaching knowledge shows. Waters, Haywood (not sure how she made teacher of the year, she's loud and very obnoxious and do not like it if a parent corrects her wrong), Bell (she's just the worst example of a teacher in that it's time for her mean self to retire). These are 5th grade teachers that will not do anything but degrade, yell, BULLY your child to support their lack of teaching and lack of knowledge of what they are supposed to teach. Simply put, your 5th grader will leave this school not much prepared for middle school. They will have self esteem issues or are one of the bad products that schools often blame on lack of parenting. Fortunately for my son, I involved myself 300 percent this year because it was seen in day one of this school year that these teachers were not the epitome of a grade school teacher. Actually, last school year, we'd walk past 5th grade classes going to 4th grade class and I remember saying to myself, God, I hope my son doesn't get any of these teachers. Well, it's all the school has. This school need to rethink the quality of education and clean house of these disgraceful 5th grade teachers. It will show that the leadership is concerned about their kids and educational track. Because for now, they are creating bad seeds to pass to the middle school that are confused as ever and it won't get better, just worse for the kids, because of the difficulty of not being prepared for 6th grade.

Sabal Palm is Amazing ! I have twins in kindergarten and to watch how much they have learned and grown from the beginning of the year is simply amazing. The teachers are very helpful and have an enjoyment for teaching. It shows through their students.
