DePaul is growing, and has made many creative and positive changes this year, including employing a new head of school. The teachers are encouraged to be their creative best and custom-design an education track for each child. It's a good mix of multisensory lessons, breaks, and community experiences. It's been an absolute godsend for a lot of parents.
This school changed my child's life. He loves school and is now excited about learning, something we never saw in public school. If your child is struggling in his or her current learning environment, I couldn't recommend DePaul more.
Before attending Depaul, my child struggled in school. Every single day homework was a nightmare. Since attending Depaul, the teachers teach in a way that she understands. Her self esteem has risen and she loves to go to school everyday. I read an earlier review and want to say that we have a new Head of School who is great. She engages the students every day and the teachers love her as well.
This review is based solely on the absolute terrible job being done by the current head of school. She has been there for about 4-5 years and is really bringing the school down. She is not engaged with the students, parents or staff. She barely showed up for work the past two years. This school had some excellent teachers, but most have left due to the poor leadership. Five teachers left after this past school year. The same thing happened a couple of years ago. Needless to say, we are not returning for another year.,
This school has been a huge blessing. "We teach the way they learn". The teachers really live by this motto and meet the kids right where they are academically. Perfect fit for most kids with learning differences.
