Wonderful things are happening at Center Academy! After struggling in the Public School System for many years my child is now making A/B Honor Roll for the 1st time ever. Her success has improved her self-esteem 100%. She looks forward to school, as never before. We have found the C.A. staff to be very interested in the students...providing encouragment towards achieving their goals now and in their future. The addition of music, drama, art & spanish have enhanced their curriculum, as well as the after school program now offered. Choosing Center Academy for our child has been a positive learning experience. Kudos to the Teachers, Director & all Staff for taking the time to make a difference in the lives of our children who were falling behind in public school.

Tremendous improvements have occurred at this school under the leadership of the latest director! Academics have improved and the curriculum has been strengthened with the addition of Spanish, art, music and drama classes. The students have more hands on opportunities and field trips incorporate an educational focus. After school activities are now an option! My child looks forward to the school day! Unlike the previous reviewers, I have found both the director and teachers very receptive to discussing my child's educational progress and needs. This school is by design a program geared to provide individual student educational needs and therefore works well for some children with learning disabilities. The director is committed to helping the teachers meet the children's educational needs.

The teaching methodology of Center Academy supports the belief that each child learns differently, and employs methods which allow for children to learn at their own pace. Our son was failing miserably in the public school system in Jacksonville. Because he was ADHD he was left to fend for himself, basically ignored. My son was then enrolled in Center Academy and we could see the improvement and positive results. My son has maintained A B grade level, and continues to shine, winning academic accolades like the President Awards, and student of the month. Center Academy is not for the Lazy child with the apathetic parent. It is a great school with an environment for children to grow as independent thinkers. I strongly recommend this school if you are interested in grooming your child for a productive future.

We had to pull our child from this school. The 3rd-4th grade teacher is awful. He doesn't care about the children or parents and is overly sensitive and immature. They just hand the kids workbooks and say here you go. No actual teaching goes on. Not good for students who need help. Please do yourself a favor and look for somewhere else to go.

I chose this school because it advertised that it was designed to help children with ADHD and other learning disabilities. However the teacher's were not equipped to teach these types of students. I did not find it to be a caring or supportive atmosphere for a child with ADHD. In fact, when a child does not complete his work, he is punished by not receiving recess for the day. The curriculum is basic- no music, art, etc. There is also very little to none hands-on type learning experiences.
