The children come first at this school. I have a child who attends NBE. I'm also part of the staff. Having had the opportunity for my child to attend and for me to work there, I would have to say it is a wonderful school. The kids are valued and encouraged to achieve. If a problem should arise, the educational staff are quick to persue the issue and follow proper district protocal when dealing with the well being of a child. They are constantly working towards excellence.

I have two children that started at New Berlin in January. We only experienced half of a school year at the school, but in that short period we were extremely pleased with Mrs. K. Dobson and Mrs. Williams. New Berlin should be very proud to have these teachers represent their school.

My daughter is in Mr. Blackmen and Ms. bellinger's class. I was extremely impressed by their professonialism throughout the year. They take the time to know all of their students individually.

My grandchildren go to New Berlin Elementary School. I was so impressed and happy when the school year started. Now, I have a different opinion. My grandson was the victim of bullying both on his bus and in his neighborhood. My daughter-in-law has met with school officials and no one has followed through with seeing that he, a third grader, is protected from a 12 year old bully. I am so hurt and disappointed in the school's lack of concern for my grandson's safety!

My child attended the special needs pre-school available for various children with disabilities. We were horrified to learn that these children were not given the funding they need and deserve. The poor teacher is given 15 special needs kids with one classroom helper (who is also assigned other tasks throughout the day so is often out of the room) and all of these kids need more attention than the average student, so she was pretty much 'babysitting' all day instead of actually being able to teach anything with kids going in every direction all of the time. When special situations came up with children, the principal was quick to blow the concerned parents off as if she had no compassion or respect for special needs kids. Shame on you! We went private this year.

First year of operation was my son's 1st. grade class, This school has a tremendous energy by both faculty & students and I see this facility acheiving top ranks in it's second year of operation. Simply cannot compare to the Montesori school my son attended in West Palm Beach. He is a happier child and very inquisitive about things he has learned at school.

My son was in 4th grade last year and had a wonderful set of teachers. He is now on the Patrol for the 2007/2008 school year and is so excited to start school. This school was very much needed in our area and it was definatley worth the wait for all of us. Thank You NBE

My daughter attended first grade at New Berlin Ele. She did very well and was challenged throughout the year. The teacher was wonderful to the students even with handling my daughters 'chatty' nature. The staff at the school was very helpfull and professional. The only problem that we encountered with the school is that being a brand new school there was a lack of day care services linked to the school. There were only 2 that provided bussing to the school from before and after programs and they filled up fast, as did the schools before and after program.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Florida used the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT 2.0) to test students in grades 3 through 10 in reading, 3 through 8 in math, and in grades 5 and 8 in science. About the tests

Florida uses School Grades to measure the overall performance of a school each year on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
