This school is amazing! Beyond amazing! Today was my son's first day of middle school (the middle school that the principal Dr Stahlman helped me get him into) however my daughter is still there following in her brothers footsteps as a safey patrol. The staff of the entire school are ALL so gracious and caring. They're like family! NEVER doubt this school! A+
Good School needs more parent involvment. Could have a strong PTA with a solid parent membership. Only set back is too much change but Teachers care about their students.
The environment in the office at Ruth N Upson has completely changed. Mrs Hancock was never as rude and snotty as the women are in the office now. This year has ruined my opinion of this school.
This is absolutely the worst school my children have ever attended! If you don't mind peoples pets being on the PTA rather than parents than send your child here. I will move if I have to just so my children wont have to attend another year at Ruth N Upson. My daughter recieved a lower grade than what she earned due to the fact that she had to use the bathroom! My son was told he couldn't use the bathroom which resulted in him going in his pants. The teachers will interupt the lesson to make students sit outside due to them not having their shirts tucked in.
My family loves this quiet, neighborhood school. We could not ask for a better education! Our child loves going to school and amazes us with the things she learns at Ruth Upson.
This by far is the best elementary school yet. It is so great that I get a special assignment for my daughter to go there! It's an 'A' school for sure!
My son is now in the third grade at Ruth Upson and the staff just gets better and better each year. His 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Randish was the teacher of the year! His 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Mc Larty should be next year! We always knew they were an 'A' school, but now they have the grade to prove it! After school activities sponsored by the Cathedral Arts Program are outstanding. They offer art, violin, dance, and drama! You really can not beat this community school! Everyone from the principal (Ms. Kring), after school staff (especially Ms. Abrahams, Ms. Hill, and Ms, Umstead)), and environmental services are top notch! Thank you all for your caring attitudes toward all students!
I really am disappointed in the way that the principal and Lynne Rind handle the academic and disciplinarian actions at Ruth Upson elementary. They do not provide the students with the quality education that they deserve.
Great school , MR. Young is awesome very understanding and helpful my now 6th grader says she would love to have another year with him wonderful caring teacher five stars from this family
We moved into this community 7 years ago and we have our 3rd child currently enrolled in Ruth Upson. We have always had a positive relationship with this school and our children have grown academically as well as socially. We will be moving at the end of October and my son is completely devastated that he has to leave Ruth Upson. I'd like to take this time to tell all of the staff how wonderful and enriching they have been. Thank you for all you do and keep up the great job! Ms. Strong...we love you and will greatly miss you... I'm so glad you were a part of Jacks life. Nancy Ellis
We have been disapointed in this school. They have been unable to challange our child academicly so he has lost intrest in school.
Teachers are commited to provide the children with an adequate education. The topographic location of Ruth N. Upson contributes a lot to the lower percentage scored. My daughter has been attending this school since the beginning of this school year and feels at ease, her academic progress has increased, plus she now looks forward to going to school. The level of parent involvement is sufficient, extracurricular activities are offered and in my book, this school is a wonderful elementary school with hard working teachers and staff.
Ruth Upson is a great neigborhood school with a caring staff and a great enviroment for learning.
I love this school..My oldest son went here and my other two attend here now. The teachers are very nice..My son has a wonderful teacher by the name of Ms Myers shes 3 rd grade...she is a great teacher, very nice and very helpful to the children..the kids seem to have alot of fun while learning...The office staff are wonderful also..I help out as much as possible so I can keep an eye out just to see how things are, and I've never had a problem..I would recommend this school to anyone.
Academically upson provides quality teachers that are invested in the students. Parental involvment is lacking as are the music, p.e., and art program.
Ruth Upson is a nice quiet area...the office personnel are very friendly and helpful. There are no sports to be played, and the playground was kinda scarey they had to go across the street to play. My younger child had a great teacher Ms Crouch she is great, very helpful.....Overall it is a nice school.
I love this school..the teachers are wonderful and very helpful..I have two children that attend this school...one in Second Grade and one in 5th and they lot it here.
I just recently enrolled my 1st grader in Ruth N. Upson & I was wary at first but it has turned out to be a great school. I appreciate the teachers and the woman in the front office is great.
I must say I commend this school for their effort. They are very good at what they do. I have children that attend and I'm also grateful for all the time, they have invested in teaching and trying to reach them (the kids) on any level each & everyday. Keep up the good work. A Very Happy Mother.
Mr Price was an excellent principal, and will be missed terribly. Both of my children have( and are currenlty)attending Ruth Upson, and I have removed them from a private school, to let them attend this public school. Amazing as that may be, this school is one of a very motivated faculty, commited teachers and staff, and very involved community and parents. This school breeds an all around dedication by the community and parents, that then projects its positive message onto the children.......and everyone wins in an optomistic, well planned, educationally emphasized enviorment. I adore the staff and faculty there, and am dreading the day when my children have to graduate to middle school. I just hope and pray that the sheer desire and dedication these teachers have, will be reflective and emulated by the middle school faculty. It'll be hard shoes to fill. I have nothing negative to say in respects to Ruth upson. The entire 'team' is a winning combonation, and I am secure and proud my children have had them all as part of their lives.
