Favoritism still exists even with new staff. Not talking about good students...it is all about family & how long you have lived in the area. It is disorganized at best. They believe you should teach for the FCAT only which robs children of needed education. There are teachers who honestly care, but not many. If your child is smart, just be prepared their job is to teach the other kids. Bulling is a HUGE problem. My kids have been beaten bloody, had stuff stolen & broken. The superintendent of the district does not like anyone else's opinions & keeps a firm thumb on the school not allowing them to do their job. But her response is "not my problem".

I have two grandchildren that I have custody of and they have attended NHE all of their school years and they are in the fifth and six grade and I think the school is great! There is a ;little favortism but I think you would find that in any small community. I feel the teachers really do care about the childrens education. Now to tell the truth I am concerned about them going the jr high and high school. Ruby Marcano

I went to this school and i am in high school. This is one of the best schools in the State of Florida. The teachers there are the best and they stay after school with the kids to help them with there problems with a subject. The teachers do care they stay after school, getting little pay when they stay after ward so that means that they do care. Wonderful staff. This school realy studys on reading and math alot. If you are coming from this school and you are going to the high schools in the North Florida Area, you are supected to master reading and math more than any school. You are also supected to be in all honers classes.

As a parent, my child went to NHE for 5 yrs & now i have another there. NHE has it's problems like any other school. It's my belief that the admin do an excellent job. I don't think they show favoritism to friends, but I could see how it would be hard to be it their position & make sure you didn't 100% of the time. I'm not sure that I agree with education problems arising from the parents, but parents are one of the keys to success, so if the parents stay on top of how their children are doing & the teachers open their doors in a very friendly manner things could be worked out to help a child in need. The school as a whole is very dedicated to the well being of your child/their education.
