My two children have attended this school for two years. It uses an excellent curriuculum - A Beka. The teachers and staff do have high standards, that have helped my children to grow spiritually and become better individuals. Academically, they have learned far more than they did at the local public schools. The expectations are high, causing my children to rise to the challenge and do very well academically and socially. We love the school and plan to see both of our children graduate from HCS.

Heritage shouldn't call itself a school when the majority of the teachers do not have any college education. They talk it up in the office like it's a wonderful place but the fact is that many of their own staff members don't have their own kids enrolled in the school. They will also invite you to the church but only a handful of the teachers there go to that church.

RE: Academic program I graduated from this school and attended it for 6 years. My siblings have attended for even longer. They do teach English very well, and I went on to get a graduate degree, so HCS has that going for it. In regard to math and science, HCS utterly fails. They have teachers who have never been to college trying to teach algebra and chemistry. This results in students who leave having learned very little in these subject areas. I was 2nd in my class and still struggled to learn from teachers who stumbled their way through lectures. RE: Teachers There is a difference between being strict and cruel. Many teachers at HCS unfortunately fall into the latter category. I have seen a couple teachers berate students, saying things like "What are you stupid?" Another one told an anemic student that they were lying about their illness even though this student brought in documents from the hospital and I knew about their legitimate sickness. Long story short, children quit teams, especially softball, due to cruel teachers who scream at them. My graduating class was 23 but this year it was 11. What does that tell you? Parents do NOT want their kids to be here.

Heritage Christian School has an incredible staff that really cares about the students. It starts with the incredible leadership whose focus is to provide a Christ centered enviroment where students can excel. My son and daughter have attended HCS for eleven years. They have been blessed each year with excellent teachers. There are many families who proudly call Heritage Christian home.

We can debate all we want wether this is a good school or not, but the bottom line is: your kid will be miserable here. especially in high school. and the only reason the toddlers don't complain is because they don't know when they are being mistreated. The truth is that a parent sees what the administration at Heritage wants you to see. If you talk to most of the children, they hate it. When there is such a majority who hate being in that school day in and day out, and believe me there is, there has to be a reason Most of the problems arise from the bitter and insensitive teachers. Nobody is watching them, so they run wild. almost literally at times. if it is your intention to make your child unhappy, by all means send your kids to this school. But if not, do yourself a favor and just listen to your kid every once in a while. They will tell u the truth because they are there 7 hours a day. I begin to ask myself why I even gave this school 1 star honestly.

Beware! This school has teachers that do not have degrees. They have trouble teaching college prep subjects and fail to help the kids that are struggling. Some high school teachers at this school send their own kids to different schools. That should raise a red flag for you. This school thrives on maintaining an adversarial relationship between the administration, the parent, The student and the teacher. Consider yourself warned if you choose to send your child to this school. I am a parent and my kids have attended this school for years.

My child was student there for a short time. We were new to the area an meet a coach who presuaded and basically sold the school to us.My son has never attended a public school until 2009 so attending Heritage would be a great idea. The people we meet and teachers were great, But due to a small financial issue I as a parent was humiliated and embarrased by the administrator in front of mychild and other parents in the office. This cause me to immediately decide this is not the Christian Based School for my child ,even after speaking to the Pastor I was basically called a liar and told nothing I said happened, I am truly hurt by this experience. Thanks for another life lesson. God Bless You All.

It is a great christian school. My son is in K3 and he have demonstrated a great sense of maturity and there is a big difference on his behavior since he started. Thank You Mrs. Epperson for making a great impact and difference in our son's life.

I have two children at Heritage, one is in 9th grade and the other one is in 6th grade, they both have been attending HCS since 1st grade, I do believe that compare to other environments around our hometown this is one of the best, I understand no one is perfect and not always the students will agree with their teachers when it comes to setting up rules but we as parents do know what is right and what is wrong for our children. I don't think there is a lot of homework, my children do have other activities after school (soccer, piano lessons, ballet/dance) At Heritage the kids do learn to be organized and to have their priorities in order.

So far I have found the school to be good for my son. This is the second year that he has gone here. I applaued the rules set in the school. I applaued the teachers. I applaued the comments from Feb. 19th. I love the small class size compared to a public school. THIS SCHOOL IS GREAT! Keep God in your heart and you will be happy and do the right things in life. To the student that keeps getting demerits, I will Pray for you and hope that you can see right from wrong. Very Happy Parent of a 1st grader.
