I hate this school cant wait for the end of the year, what a terrible teachers and the principal has no manners, no people skills. they discriminate people based on their race. shame on you ! chestnut
Another great year for my daughter at Chestnut! I couldn't be more pleased. It takes a great leader to lead his people to success and it also takes the willingness of the people to be successful. Great teamwork-Chestnut teachers, Mr Shuttera & the parents who really care about their child's education!
Congratulation's you are an 'A' school. Teachers and administration works very hard everyday providing extra curricular help and remediation to help the children. My son improve tremendously this year. Thanks to all of you!
This school has the 'BEST' Principal of the whole school distric,he has special ways to challenge all the students to reach their goals. He knows not only how to motivate students but also all the school staff. You want the greates customer service at the front office, come to Chestnut Elementary. My daugther took all the challenges from the principal and her teacher Miss Martin, she got level in FCAT scores, Thanks for all the Motivation and challenges from all school staff, this school is an 'A' school.
Im very pleased with the school my daughter is 7 and she is reading 3 grade level i love all the staff they are nice and very sincere i had no problems and Im very pleased with the school
I agree with the previous poster. The administration and faculty bend over backwards to provide remediation, literacy nights, AR nights as well as get parents involved in school activities. There are after school activities in which the faculty and staff who run them are not paid for- they do it out of love for the kids and wanting to go that extra mile. Unfortunately, the loudest critics of any school are often the ones who involve themselves the least. The staff and administration of this school have a deep passion for getting kids to do their best. This is my children's first year here- and I was very worried about the quality of their education- I have been very impressed, given the amount of kids who attend here and the struggles the community as a whole has.
It is always amazing to me when parents comment about our school. Chestnut Elementary is a good school with administrators, teachers and support staff that care about the children and take pride in their school. Chestnut has many after school activities and tries to involve parents as much as possible. When there are PTO meetings or FCAT nighs, for example, it is amazing that we get very few parents that attend but yet, these same parents seem to be very vocal about what our school is lacking. Unfortunately, if a parent doesn't get what they want, they immediately say our school is not good. I am very proud to be associated with Chestnut Elementary and I know there are many others that feel the same way. A low FCAT score does not portray what a school is all about either.
I am absolutely disappointed by this school. My first impressions were not so bad despite the low school grade. However, after numerous disputes and constant miscommunication between my family and several of the faculty members my son was extracted from this school.
excellent administration, exceptional teachers, great overall morale between students and faculty.
PE is held only every other week, class size is high, discipline/student safety does not seem to be a priority
