I am really impressed with the school. The staff and administration go above and beyond to make sure the students get what they need in ways of learning and get them the extra support to be able to achieve their goals. I wouldn't have my children at any other schol.

My daughter started school at hillcrest in the 2004-2005 school year she was in kindergarden at the time. At first I was very happy they had a jump start program for her to help her get used to going to school. I liked the fact that I was able to join her in that experience and that they were able to answer all the questions that I had at that time since she was my first child to go to school. I really enjoyed talking with the staff about the upcomming schoo year. I liked that the school had dance, music, art, and went on very exciting field trips. I tried to go to the P.T.A. Meetings as much as I could. My daughter did very well her first year of school. She got perfect attendence and I had no problem of getting her out of bed to go to school.

We Love Hillcrest! It offers a wonderful variety of The Arts that the students would otherwise not be exposed to. The administration and staff are wonderful. I am so glad my daughter is a student at Hillcrest.

Hillcrest is at it's best this year with a new fresh spirit, teachers and students are excited about the new upcoming of the charter system, with having two children there for the past couple of years. I am very excited about the new classes that are available to all students and the dedication the teachers have put into the school. No doubt in my mind that we will become an A school this year.

I think this school has a lot of potential. I can't wait to see what they do with the charter movement. I've heard wonderful things that the children will get to experience. I can't wait!

This past year I had 3 daughters in this terrific school. The teachers and staff are always very helpful and take the time to know our kids. Mrs. Lynn the Principle has been fantastic. She truly loves and cares for her students. She knows them by name, and knows most parents by name and who their child/children are. I have great admiration for her and her staff. I could not have asked for a better learning enviroment for my kids. I as many many other parents and I am sure staff just wish more time could be spent on learning more about our world and history then preparing them for the FCAT. There is so much more for these kids to learn then the FCAT.

Your comment: I have two children that have been enrolled at Hillcrest elementary since kindergarten except for one year at a private school in the lake wales area. This is a wonderful school and I cannot stress enough how much they deserve the B grade that they have strived to receive, i truly believe that they will become a grade A school this year. I have compared their academics to other schools (including private)and they are advanced to say the least! Never before have I seen such a wonderful group of teachers and administrators. Job well done to all the teachers,p arents and the students, there isn't another school I could be more proud of my children attending, nor is there another school I could be more pleased with. Hillcrest is a great example for other schools to follow. And if all schools were this wonderful and put such an emphasis on their students and education the Polk County School System would be much better off and so would our children.Go Hillcrest Hawks! Sincerly, a very proud Hillcrest mom!
