Our Children's Academy

As I sit to type and to put into words, all that Our Children's Academy [OCA} has done for my son, I become overwhelmed with emotion and pride. Pride in my son, in my son's teachers, therapists, paraprofessionals, all the staff of OCA who make the school what it is each and every day, to each and every student. When David first started back in August of 2009 we knew that he had a speech and cognitive delay. We was 2 years and 9 months old, yet saying only one word at a time like "out" or "juice". I could ask him to do a simple task such as "please pick up that towel" and he would stare at me. I could see him "hear" the words, but struggle to make what he heard, process in his mind. I had never heard him say a "sentence" consisting of 2 or more

Although there are some great things and people at Our Children's Academy, I warn all parents that most of the children at this school are not getting the services they say they are providing. I encourage parents to ask questions and get down to the bottem of what is going on there. The Principal is suppose to be the head and director of the school but she is rarely there. There is no Assistant Principal at this school. Even though the school may have a lot of fancy equipment, it is extremely disorganized. Before you enroll your child there proceed with caution.

My daughter 'coya' has been at OCA since they opened the doors...I have watched her and other students make tremendous progress by leaps and bounds!!! Everyone who works there is amazing from the teachers to the therapists and even the office staff and volunteers!!! I would tell anyone who is reading this to come check us out , we are doing awesome things in itty bitty Lake Wales!!!!

My 5 yr old son has been a student at OCA for a year now, and he has made such progress. His teachers are wonderful, and his therapist is amazing. The enire staff at this school strive to help each child reach their full potential. I highly recomend OCA to anyone who may be looking for a school that specializes in special needs children.

I am very grateful for this school. My child has made such amazing progress. She is a 3 year old dd and I have watched her in the last year come from speaking single syllables da, ma and ba, to speaking in 2-word phrases. She loves going to school and they treat her so good there.
