After 6 years of being at that school I have mixed emotions about it the lunch ladies are rude shouldn't u be able to talk to ur friends and have social hour a Between ur classes well you can't do that here one lunch lady ( that won't be named ) was so rude to me and all my friends I had silent lunch most of the time and it wasent even my class (most of the time) but anyways the teachers are nice my personal favorite was mrs Kenny and mrs.Smith they were always understanding about late homework and rarely ever punished anyone ! We also had a problem with snack but that was when mr.blake was princiable and if u don't know who he is search him up! But overall yes I do recommend panther run

My child is in pre-k ese and has made more strides than in a year of private speech therapy! The teachers and staff are better thanwe had in private school! Kudos to Panther Run for doing education right!

I love this school. It was my sons first year here (2nd grade) and the staff was fantastic and he learned so much. Best thing we ever did was get out of Boynton Beach and move to Wellington. PTA is amazing and the administration is very present. It's refreshing to have a principle and vice principle who encourage parental involvement . Simply a completely different caliber of school than what we came from ....,,

This school was not my favorite. The teachers were very nice (well not all of them). The lunch ladies were very crabby and not nice. We could not even talk with out them yelling at us. Life was crule those 6 years of being a student there. I have had some nice teachers and one mean teacher. I am now in middle school looking back at the horrible years of staying there. I renamed the school "jail". I hope the kids that are to come to this school and those who are to come will have luck of going through these horrible years of their lives. I have to say that middle school is far better then Panther run. Every kid is happy when get out of this school and move on to middle school (exept some kids).

We moved from out of state and picked this school before we looked for homes. The teachers have been great. The PTA is very active within the school, and new members are welcome. My kids are in 1st and 3rd and everyone has been extremely welcoming and helpful with our transition. We look forward to the next few years!

Panther Run Elementary School is in Wellington, Fla., around 12 miles west of Lake Worth. Original ZIP codes for this region show "Lake Worth" going that far west, but Wellington is a city and has absorbed that area. The Postal Service, however, did not change the ZIP code. It is Wellington, a larger city than Lake Worth.

In response to the previous reviewer, if you look at the 2009 FCAT scores for both Discovery Key and Panther Run, you will see that Panther Run's test scores are overall higher across the board than Discovery Key's scores. This is probably why Panther Run is rated higher than Discovery Key.

I dont see how this school is getting a 10 out of 10, and is scoring less then Discovery Key in ALL ratings and Discovery Key is getting a 9 out of 10...

My three children have received and continue to receive great learning experiences. The Kindergarten-2nd grade teachers are exceptional my children love to go to school because of the fun time they have learning.

I strongly am impressed with the use of equipment at this school and how the students are always optimistic with their tasks.

I am impressed with the level of commitment that I see everyday from the parents, teachers, administration, and community. My daughter teachers make it fun to learn. For reading Ms. Harris has several incentives to motivate our young readers. Mrs. McMichael is very positive and reinforces a can do attitude. Mrs. Silvestri is always ready to help my daughter! We are so grateful to have these wonderful teachers. And remember nobody is perfect so focus on the good qualities!

I can tell you that I have been to some of the neighboring schools and they have nothing on Panther Run. I can complain about parking, but in the end parking doesn't make the school. What makes the school is the staff and academic achievement. Panther Run continually makes the grade and leads the county in what counts, academic achievement. OK, we could use a bigger parking lot. The point is my kids are getting an excellent education.

I just don't see the excellence that these other parents talk about, I wish I have had the same experiences with my children. And we are so tired of being compared to Binks...Why not say other neighboring schools? All of the schools in Wellington are outstanding which is why most of us reside in this Village. The pick up & dismisal are terrible and unsafe for our children. We don't even have ample parking. I will say that our Principal has made some positive changes, other than that I don't see the great strides of Panther Run.

This is my second year volunteering at the school and I am impressed with the level of commitment that I see everyday from the teachers, administration, and community. Having been at other elementary schools, I can see why this school always ranks at the top.

This is a terrific school. We moved to Wellington just to be here. '5 Stars' without a doubt.

I am surprised at the last poster's comments. Panther Run was exceptional in every category last year, especially in dealing with kids with special needs. The current ESE teacher has been there for over 5 years and I attribute my daughter's success to her and the homeroom teacher. I have been very pleased with the educational experience my child has received.

I am a parent with three children in Panther Run. Two of my children are very good students while my third is on an ESE program. IMHO, having viewed the way that both types of students are handled, Panther Run is far more concerned with ensuring that their great students excel and underconcerned with students that need additional help. For example, it took a significant amount of time and effort on our part to ensure that the ESE program was initiated, as well a higher than expected teacher turnover in the program. While you can not expect the teachers to spend a disproportionate amount of time with students who need additional help, they can not simply ignore them either. I hope that the new principle, now with a year under his belt, recognizes that he is responsible for the needs of ALL of his students.

I was very surprised to read anything negative about Panther Run. As you will read through all these reviews, it is very rare to see someone that is unhappy with the school. To our family and others I know, it seems to be getting better and better. It's been an A rated school for years. How can a parent deny that, that is not a good thing. People purposely move around here so that Panther Run is their child's school. As for the media and newspapers....There is something in the local papers at least once a week. The Palm Beach Post and Sun-Sentinel also has run articles and photo's about the great thing happening at Panther Run. Granted, before the new principal things were not as great as they are now. But I would certainly never say that I was ever disapointed academically or otherwise.

About the tests

Florida uses School Grades to measure the overall performance of a school each year on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
