LMMS empowers students to tackle real-world projects, build community and be accountable to each other. Young people discover knowledge for themselves through experiments, entrepreneurship and experiences outside the classroom. Adolescents learn how information fits into larger contexts, differing viewpoints, and expanding circles of influence- from the classroom to local issues to national and global. Students learn to organize and manage their own time and work process, and to work collaboratively as well as independently. Individual strengths are celebrated and given room to grow. With sixty students in grades 7 and 8, two Montessori accredited teachers and an assistant, this is a very unique learning environment.

Lakeland Montessori Middle is an excellent school. 2011 is it's first year and, even with it being tough to start out they have not once let anyone down. If you are looking for a good middle school for the next school year, this is the place to go!!!
