The school expects parents to abide by their contract and then don't hold there end of the bargain. The school has failed to provide transportation for incoming first year students and parents are required to drive their kids to school for the first few weeks is what we were told. They do have some special place for parents that have special issues like kids at multiple school but that is case by case reviewed by the principle. They stated students must were specific uniform on Monday or they will not be allowed at school, yet today (Monday) I see lots of students in the Green Polo and shorts. I can only hope the administration improves rapidly as we get into the school year.

Superior education in Polk County. Very pleased with all teachers. Students are held to a high standard which makes them well prepared for an IB Middle School.

This school offers good academics, but unfortunately the parents are left to teach the children at home. Many of the teachers seem to be stressed by the principal and this spills over onto the children. There are truly a few great teachers that seem to balance it all well and are able to teach and motivate the kids. However, due to the lack of support from the principal and some of the teachers, many parents choose to withdraw.

Awesome Awesome Awsome School! I have yet to meet a teacher that was not exceptional and willing to work on what ever it takes to help your child be successful. They have a rigorous program and my children needed extra help and they were always there. The principal is beyond words and ALL of the staff are simply terrific. I could not have written a better ticket for my children's education!

My child is attending Kindergarten at LAA and will complete the year in a few days. We've been very pleased. Communication was excellent throughout the year. A lot of parental involvement is requested and expected. We were particularly pleased that children were encouraged and allowed to work toward their highest potential. Many of the students have mastered skills that are beyond what is expected of a typical kindergarten student.

Excellent academics. Problem is with the principal. Tremendous staff/teacher turnover. Teacher/Parents are intimidated to not speak on negative issues. Teachers continue to walk on egg shells. No positive support or help from the principal to her teachers. Awards and accolades are higher priority than teaching children to be a better well rounded members of society. If interested in enrolling your child/children, Please speak with parents and or teachers outside of school grounds to find out how difficult she is. A real shame a great school has the majority of its teachers afraid to communicate with the principle in fear of retaliation or vindictiveness.

My child is a current 1st grader at Lincoln. She has attended since the beginning of kindergarten. We have been very pleased with the quality of education our child has received. Parent communication is also excellent. Teachers regularly send home information regarding classroom events and school events. We have been very please and would recommend Lincoln Academy to everyone!

About the tests

Florida uses School Grades to measure the overall performance of a school each year on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
