Really all the teachers at that school are wonderful! We are so happy to have the SMA family! Thank you to all the teachers to stay after school for the extracurricular activities!

I attend SMA, when I found out I was accepted last year I was very miserable. most students there are rude, I had made very few friends. Although I do enjoy the school because my teachers Mrs. Tyler and Ms. Eiland as well as Ms.Nix pushed me to strive. My favorite teachers were mrs. Tyler and mrs. Harwell. this will be soon my last year at SMA. I would recommend this school for education purposes. Although, sometimes the staff can be a little rude, and get a little crazy with the fines.

I am a mother of 1 and was told so many amazing things about this school. 2 weeks into the school year my kindergartner was labeled as a failure and I was told he needed to repeat VPK. I asked for a plan of action with teacher and was told it would stress him out more. The fact is they didn't want to bother with a child that took a little more time to get into a routine and would ruin that amazing A status. I will never recommend this school to anyone!

Most teachers are caring and responsive to a student's needs, and there is great community among families at South McKeel. Teaching quality varies, but is generally great. I don't agree with the review that says students are kept out or disciplined for "downfalls" but it is true that some are fairly heavy handed on administrative issues to a student's detriment. I don't know that this is any different from other schools, and overall, I think the teaching quality makes this a school of choice for Lakeland families.

I have 3 children at S. Mckeel. My children ask for help and get the help they ask for. My oldest had a so called downfall and His 3rd grade teacher gave her all, now he is on the honor roll. Thank You Mrs. Viers. She is now working with my second child. I have no complaints at all.

As the other posts say, this is an excellent school. However, if you are moving to the area with the hopes of your child attending, you may be disappointed. The waiting list is extremely high. You basically have to either have a sibling of your child already attending, be a polk county employee, be a minority or know someone to get into this school.

Smea is an excellent school. The teachers and staff provide quality education in a nurturing environment. I am glad I made the choice to send my children to this school.

Seth Mckeel Academy has many parent volunteers. The teachers and all staff are superb. The times I was there I never heard a teacher yelling or belitting any child. Great job Mckeel! Carol Tangarone- Grandparent

Couldn't ask for a better experience! My daughter excelled at South McKeel--unlike her experience at Valley View Elementary. A wonderful, small-school feel with staff that really care about the kids. What's best is that they don't shove the FCAT down the kids' throats. They encourage and prepare as opposed to instilling fear and doubt. I highly recommend this school!

This school is not very caring to its students and family, when a child asks for help he/she is rejected for their downfalls,or immediately disciplined for his/hers areas of need. I would not recommend this school.

My daughters go to 3rd and 5th grade in South McKeel and I can't be any more happier with the school. Just like me there is a lot of parents involved in the school, it is just awesome. Thank you Ms. Grice (principal) for all your hard work to keep the school the way it is.
