I have 3 children at S. Mckeel. My children ask for help and get the help they ask for. My oldest had a so called downfall and His 3rd grade teacher gave her all, now he is on the honor roll. Thank You Mrs. Viers. She is now working with my second child. I have no complaints at all.
As the other posts say, this is an excellent school. However, if you are moving to the area with the hopes of your child attending, you may be disappointed. The waiting list is extremely high. You basically have to either have a sibling of your child already attending, be a polk county employee, be a minority or know someone to get into this school.
Smea is an excellent school. The teachers and staff provide quality education in a nurturing environment. I am glad I made the choice to send my children to this school.
Seth Mckeel Academy has many parent volunteers. The teachers and all staff are superb. The times I was there I never heard a teacher yelling or belitting any child. Great job Mckeel! Carol Tangarone- Grandparent
I went to SMEA last year and it was awsome! I cant belive anyone would not like it. I would highly reccomend it. -Jade
Couldn't ask for a better experience! My daughter excelled at South McKeel--unlike her experience at Valley View Elementary. A wonderful, small-school feel with staff that really care about the kids. What's best is that they don't shove the FCAT down the kids' throats. They encourage and prepare as opposed to instilling fear and doubt. I highly recommend this school!
This is a great school, because the teachers are ready to help your child in any subject he or she needs it. Thestaff is the best around.
This school is not very caring to its students and family, when a child asks for help he/she is rejected for their downfalls,or immediately disciplined for his/hers areas of need. I would not recommend this school.
My daughters go to 3rd and 5th grade in South McKeel and I can't be any more happier with the school. Just like me there is a lot of parents involved in the school, it is just awesome. Thank you Ms. Grice (principal) for all your hard work to keep the school the way it is.
