My son is in his senior year at this school and it just seems to me that this school only seems to get better. The academies are top notch and the school does a great job of keeping parents informed. I love the diverse population and the camaraderie that the kids all seem to have with one another.

I had gone to Santaluces Community High School for the past 4 years. Honestly I can say that this school has prepared me more than just academically. The experiences you get from my school are just incredible. As a Jamaican and Chinese male I can say it is more than easy mixing cultures with other students and teachers of all races and backgrounds, which is important in coming of age. Students from all races do more than just get along, they are best of friends! The visual arts academy is the BEST at this school than anywhere else! Come to this school for this program! The art teachers are so dedicated and really do want students to succeed! The teachers at Santaluces are outstanding! Few teachers have their bad moments but you learn to get through it with them. They teach you the material you need to know to make sure you can understand, and if you are not sure ask them and they will be more than happy to go over it. They are there to teach you but you also laugh, cry, and share amazing times with these people. Everyone at this school will be your family and love you for whom you are! High School is a important step in life and I am glad I had the chance to grow up at Santaluces!

I'm currently a freshman at santaluces high school and i really like the school. The only problem is the principle, it really feels like we're middle schoolers. But other than that it's just an amazing school.

Some teachers are great, but there are teachers that have a low expectation and cannot teach. This is my first year at SHS but so far i have only liked a little of my time there.

I'm going to be a senior this coming year, and I'm really sad to say that this is probably going to be the worst year I'll have at Santaluces. I disagree with the principal's decisions, and her ways. Look at the past couple reviews, and I'm sure they're not the only parents or students that are unhappy with the way things are turning out. It should show her something is going wrong, and maybe that's why all her staff and teachers are leaving. We have students who are more involved and caring about our school then she is. But on the bright side, teachers.. whoever may be left next year, are very friendly and helpful. Us, students, are actually very bright and interested in learning new things. Get rid of Orloff!!!!

I love Santaluces High School and so does my daughter. We have felt comfortable in the school since day 1 and the faculty is always available to help.

Santaluces has changed a great deal before their usto be so much more assisitance and understanding of the students needs, but now they just look at you as just onother student and do not take the time to devote themselves to the needs of strugling students ,I have seen many changes in santaluces that have not been positive .And Miss Orloff she was no good for Diamond View and even worse for Santaluces all she pecaches about is 0 tollorence and the responce is always twilight school or suspension .Is this the way that our children suppose to learn ? How about being more involved in how to help struggling students instead of hiding behind the asst principle

Ever since we got a new principle (Mrs. Orloff) this school has gone downhill. She keeps making up tons of rules and treats the students as if they're in elementary or middle school. Also, our school has gotten a lower rating ever since she came in. I would not recommend going here unless you want to follow tons of pointless rules - especially one with such a poor academic rating.

I graduated from santaluces this year and I must say it's a great school. I loved all 4 years that i attended it and if i had the chance i would do it all over again the same exact way. The staff at santaluces are so supportive and i've never felt so at home. My teachers really went out of their way to help us and they did a great job. Santaluces is the best.

I think that Santaluces is a great school. I am currently a teacher at SCHS. While I am 'newer' to the staff, I first became involved with SCHS 15 years ago -- when I first got out of college. I know that the school has a great staff...who do their best to do 'what's right for students'. I currently work with the science department --- and I have to tell you, you'll find no better group of individuals to work with or learn from!

I'm only a sophomore, I'm involved with school, and extra curricular activites. This school is not the best school. Administrators, guidance counselors, and teachers don't even make efforts to get to know you personally. I agree with the grades, teachers don't grade anything, just check to see if all is completed. What good is that? They emphisize about every other school, but everyone knows Santaluces isn't anywhere near the best.

Santaluces is such a better school then I could ever imagine. All the Santaluces Staff there are great people and work so hard to help us to get to are personal goals in are future life's after we graduate High School. Administrators there are always on top of things. The security is always there when someone needs something or something was to happen. So I give those guys a lot of credit. Over all this school is my recommended High School of Palm Beach County Schools.

I attended SHS from 1999 to 2003. The classwork may be tedious at times, but it in no way challenges the students or encourages them to learn. Cheating and plagiarism is rampant and grading is a joke. If a student gets all of his or her work done, right or wrong, he or she will most likely be on the honor roll. There are a few great teachers at that school, who sincerely care about the students. They are the ones who actually seemed like they Wanted to be teachers. There vast majority, however merely baby sat a class room all year. I would not recommend that school to anyone.

I've been a parent of children at this school for the last 10 years. The principal, Mr. Heyward has been a pillar of strength and leadership for our students and parents alike. He will be dearly missed as he is pending retirement. The staff and administration are warm, friendly and helpful and seem to have an open door policy, I've been into the office over the years with different questions and have always been treated courteously. Mr. Heyward had the foresight, years ago, to suggest the school aquire a Performing Arts Center which was completed last year to the delight of students and parents alike. He's hired the most brillant teacher/director I've ever met since I've been to New York City, we are truly blessed with the direction of Mr. Foster. Mr. Foster works tirelessly and assures all students can participate by working the rehersals around the schedules of every extracurricular activity.

The school took both of my children as Freshmen, from straight 'A's' and the honor roll, and Presidential Honors, to hating school by Senior year. They have a low rating in the state as far as their grade, and they failed both of my daughters, in my opinion! Counselors wouldn't call me back on several occasions, until it was way too late to do anything. In hind sight, I would have taken all steps to relocate my children from this horrible place! I hope you do the same for yours!

Currently, both my daughters attend SHS. One is a freshman the other a junior. Both are in honor classes and both are cheerleaders. My oldest is in SGA and the youngest is in drama. This school is wonderful. We have been involved with the excellent band dept as well. Mr. Hayward, the principle, is admired by all. The faculty loves him, the parents admire him and the students respect him. This school is extremely diverse and according to my girls this is what keeps the balance. Very seldom do you hear about rivalies or conflict between races or ethnic backgrounds. My girls are very happy, very involved and that makes me feel extremely confidant in their education and socail growth.

I recently moved from FL & I was a previous student at Santaluces. The time that I was there the school was awesome! Most of the teachers help you with anything that you may need. You normally dont find a teacher who doesnt care, & if you do then its really surprising! Santaluces was by far the best school that I have ever gone to! If your child is going into high school or moving from another state, then you should totally put them in Santaluces!

I am a horrified at how they run sataluces because a lot of students just barely get by. not alot of people pass fcat. i moved to florida and now i am learning the same things that i have learned in the 8th grade. i was shocked and there's not enough things they have to help people better them selves and now our classes are so packed there's 50 people in my cooking class when were only supposed to have 30 and now we have study hall because we have a shortage of teachers

My daughter attends Santaluces now and is in her final year. She has had a roller-coaster ride of success. She is very intelligent girl but an at risk student with a 504 plan. I do believe that you have to constantly check on your children s progress. Weekly progress reports are available through guidance to those who seek it. My daughter has had the same guidance counselor (who is wonderful) since her freshman year. I believe this had been a tremendous help. It gives the student a familiar adult to confer with. This has been instrumental in her success. Most children really need this especially if they are at risk for one reason or another. Some teachers try to help the children. Some are there for the wrong reasons. I'm still crossing my fingers that my child is a success story.

I find that there is little teacher involvement outside of the immediate classroom setting and unless a parent becomes a 'pest' in calling teachers and counselors for updates no one takes the initiative to alert a parent to a behaviour or academic problem. I would suggest weekly progress reports and homework/tests posted on line for easy access by both students and parents who care to stay on top of what their kids are doing.

I myself was a student there from 1996 - 2001. Throughout my experience I've learned a lot from Santaluces. I've met teachers there who really don't care and I've met some few select teachers who went out of there way to help me with any and all of my problems, even when they didn't relate to school. Santaluces was a little overcrowded when I attended there, but since Boynton high has opened and more than half the students have left there, students are probably getting the attention they deserve. I don't think anyone should put down Santaluces unless they have attended it and feels that it has changed their life in a bad way.

'Having gone to this particular school and seeing their methods i am proud to say, that my child goes to this school and maintains a high grade point average. She is on the basketball team and loves this school. She is also a senior and can read and write she will be going on to yale this fall.'
