This is a challenging question as giving more attention to one child means less for another. There are high expectations here and none of the schools seem to have enough time for recess anymore but the teachers really try to balance the needs of all the children.
Like many schools the kids start out using a color rating system for behavior. They are rewarded for good behavior or lose rewards if in need of improvement. Parents are also encouraged to be in contact with teachers.
There are generally no weekend assignments and, while there is a significant amount of homework, we usually review it at the beginning of the week which allows us to do more or less on any given evening.
