I've both attended and teach at Castle Hill. I personally believe that all teachers weren't born to teach (like me!), but there are teachers who've learned and perfected this gift. Some parents believe that some teachers are only there to collect a paycheck. Teaching at ANY school is not a job you do just for the paycheck. Trust me, it doesn't pay enough. We teach because we love our kids. We wish we had 100% PARENT INVOLVEMENT, but that's not the case, so we do what we can...which is above and beyond what we are expected to do. Parents just remember; we can't do it alone. You are your child's 1st teacher, so don't expect a miracle if you're not doing your parent. WE CARE! I just wish our students were more respectful and obedient towards adults. That's where we need help...parents and the community. We are doing our part, are you? I love my students, school, and staff.

the admin staff at this school are great. the school i think is great...however the teachers need to care a lot more about the success of all children...i think they would do a good job if they would just be comitted to teaching and ensuring that their students learn...and not just receiving a pay check...

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Florida used the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT 2.0) to test students in grades 3 through 10 in reading, 3 through 8 in math, and in grades 5 and 8 in science. The FCAT 2.0 is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Florida. The FCAT 2.0 has 5 achievement levels, with level 1 being the lowest and level 5 the highest. Florida considers scores of level 3 and higher to be on or above grade level. The goal is for all students to score at or above level 3.

About the tests

Florida uses School Grades to measure the overall performance of a school each year on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
