I am a student at Barrington MIddle School and I will be going into the 7th grade. Last year was amazing because I really learned alot through my teachers. They offer great elective elective choices and sports teams. Most of the reviews by students say that they get bullied alot but that isn't true. This school is amazing! People only get bullied because they aren't popular like me. You have to try to make friends other wise you get beat up. Don't worry all you new comers all you have to do is buy the right cloths make sure you have a cell phone and make friends. If you don't want to try to be popular and still don't get beat up just be sure to blend in and nothing will happen to you. If you are reading this and are really not sure about going here do not go to randall! The teachers just care about getting good ratings and scores. They don't care about you at all. And they have about 33 kids in each class. It was so cramped when I went there. If you are still feeling doubts about barrington you shouldn't be the teacher help you sooo much and try there hardest to help with the bullying. The only complaint I have is that you don't get a hall locker just a gym locker. I love BMS!

This school was sad. You always get accused for something you didn't do. Even if you explain why you didn't do it, it's a waste of time because they're still going to punish you. And I have the feeling most of the student body is racist based on my experience. Most teachers are mean. Didn't really learn anything important. Wouldn't recommend the school. Though the only upside is that they give out five dollars every friday to 'some' students.

I won't lie. This is my second year in Barrington and sadly i'll be leaving when this year is done. Barrington has done wonders for me. I finaly feel like im learning and that I can rely on the staff to help me. I'm in high school credit classes and their opening new and more doors for me! I've also been in AVID for the time i've been here. AVID is a little annoying at times but it does push us to work harder and to find an understanding (without looking stupid infront of the WHOLE class) we use peer teaching. Our principal is wonderful, she's found the perfect balance for any middle school. Normally fights don't happen and if they do someone from the staff is already there to break it up. And the electives have finaly made an effort. I really can't complain about barrington. Its perfect. We have things to motivate us everyday and programs at the end of the day, just in case we need a little more help to understand something in our academics. Not only that but our music programs are spontanious! (pardon me for any spelling errors) If you want your child to have fun and actually LEARN, Barrington Middle School is the perfect place for them to go to.

This is my daughters second year at Barrington, and we couldn't be more pleased. She had attended private school up until 5th grade and after talking to admin. several times over the summer, felt she would be more prepared for public high school here than where we currently were. You wouldn't believe how many families have choiced thier children here from private schools. We have an very strong administration that stays very visible in the school. We are very happy with the decision we have made to send her to Barrington!

Barrington is a great school with a strong Principal! Middle School is hard no matter where you go and the teachers there are excellent. Barrington received a B grade missing an A by seven points. I don't hold much stock in the FCAT. This is the 3rd middle school for our area and I believe its the best!

My son is new to the school this year and he LOVES it!! He was bullied at his last school so I was worried but he's in the advanced classes and comes home happy every day. They offer honors classes as well. 4 of his 7 teachers are men and the principle is very involved. I chose Barrington over Randall because I wanted him to shine (vs. get lost in the crowd) and it's been a fantastic decision thus far!

The anit-bullying policy at this school seems to be nothing but words on paper. Kids are harrassed and intimidated constantly. My grandson was actually punched in the face in his geography class when the teacher was no where in sight! He has also been hit and threatened on the bus with no action taken by the bus driver or the school. It is a disgrace that they cannot provide a safe environment for learning.

Fledgling school trying to establish an 'A' rating so Newland Developers can sell 4,000 more homes. Barrington currently is open to school choice applications. It is nowhere near capacity. Most of its population is currently made up of children from Riverview not Lithia. Biggest problem is that Barrington does not have enough students in need of gifted programs to establish whole classrooms for the gifted, therefore the Barrington curriculum is lagging behind more established schools in the area. Barrington is fine if you want status quo but not if your child is already ahead and in need of more sophisticated programs. Only plus I can state is small class size at Barrington. Will be interesting to see what the 2009/2010 school year FCAT scores will be for Barrington

I do not like this school. I have learned nothing really. Kids have been bullied to the point where they cry & have to go home. Teachers/principals give iss or oss to students for the smallest things. I do not recommend your child to come to this school. The principal doesn't even do anything, not involved in much activities. I barely see her. I'm very disappointed & i'm trying to work my way out of this school & go to eisenhower. Because believe or not eisenhower is actually a better school than barrington.
