Coming from a private preschool, we were nervous about our kids transitioning to public school. Would they get the personal attention, challenging curriculum and support they needed to be successful? Our kids are now entering third and first grades and it's clear there was no reason to worry! Lake Sybelia is a fantastic school with dedicated teachers, experienced leadership and good resources for students. Recently renovated, the school is clean, bright and well organized. The staff and teachers come to stay -- many have been with the school for most of their careers. Lots of parent involvement, a great PTA and positive teacher participation. Events like the Back-to-School Food Truck Bash, WOW Science Fair, Art & Music Night, Math Game Night and more help bring families together. And, I love that my kids are meeting and making friends from diverse backgrounds, including DHH learners. If you're on the fence, call and make an appt for a tour. The staff's enthusiasm and knowledge will convince you!

So far my daughter is doing well. We currently moved from New York and she likes her knew school. Still missing her old school and friends though. One thing as a knew parent I only wished they gave homework on weekends. So use to her having homework everyday. Staff and teachers are really nice so far. The nurse is great. Overall she's adjusting well.

My child recently started kindergarten at Lake Sybelia. The staff treats us as as though we've been going there for years! There are so many social events for the kids and a great selection of enrichment classes after school. My biggest fear of my early reader being bored is gone . It's nice to see she's being given a chance to shine.

Lake Sybelia is the best school in Maitland. The staff is consistently top notch. Strong achievement across all levels--and that's with a hearing impaired program! Very inclusive and warm environment.

This is an amazing school. Parent involvement couldn't be any better. There are many family activities throughout the year and the turnout is always spectacular. The academic programs and the teachers are amazing. I haven't met a single teacher who I haven't loved. I have 2 children attending the school one in 2nd and one in 1st. I have heard many people say that it is a free 'private school'.

This school is amazing. They have a gifted program and a hearing impaired program. There is not much turnover in staff, which is great. Many of the teachers are nationally certified. This is a real 'neighborhood' school. There is a very high level of involvement at this school. The school is diversified, which is great because they learn from each other. My children received an excellent education from this school. The parents and staff are wonderful. THe Principal and CRT are awesome. I highly recommend this school.

The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
