My son attends the Jewish Academy of Orlando and I couldn't be any happier. The friendliness of the staff is amazing. The teachers are lovely & they teach to your child's level. If your child is having a difficult time, they will help. If your child is working ahead of the others, they will find more challenging work. My son loves everything about this school. He's excelling in every subject... reading, writing, spelling, math, & Hebrew. I love all the opportunities that I have to spend with him at school. You can come to Shabbat every Friday, you can have lunch with your child, you can volunteer for numerous committees, and you can volunteer in the classroom. I have only positive things to say about the JAO. And, I would encourage you to make an appointment for a tour.
"This is truly a unique school that is on the cutting edge of what great education should be. There are no bells, teachers yelling or needing to do crowd control our Students are engaged & Respectful... " We are recognized as an Apple Distinguish School for Innovation, Leaders & Education.
Jewish Academy is an amazing school. My 3 children have all gone there and they have received an excellent education. The school is committed to a system of differentiated learning and are wonderful at finding the strengths in each child. The education, combined with Judaics, make for a unique and outstanding educational experience. I highly recommend the school.
My children are students at the Jewish Academy of Orlando. We have three children at the school ranging from K to 5th grade and each child is having a uniquely amazing experience. We relocated this year and have been welcomed so warmly by the entire staff and community of JAO. The teachers are kind, inspiring and really make an effort to understand and guide each child. The academics are stimulating and informed. JAO has an amazing art and music program where my children return from school discussing artists in a new and exciting way. The physical education program provides them with a supportive environment where they are able to enjoy being physical and are learning new ways to be active. I am so grateful that we found JAO because every day that I pick my children up they are happy, bright and confident and I really trust that this is a credit to an amazing program.
My daughter loves JAO. The opportunities provided by the school are not only preparing her well academically, but also socially. She is confident around older kids, confident and proud to be involved in class discussions, and she is excited to go to school every morning. The teachers are caring and encouraging. The school is preparing its children for future success.
My kids feel at home here. And so do we. This is a great community of like minded families, wanting our kids to get the best education as well as become adults with values. The curriculum is challenging but the teachers make sure each and every child is getting what they need. I came knowing no one and this community has embraced or family. All I needed was 1 visit to the school to know, in my gut, this was right for my kids and our family.
The JAO is an amzing school. Yesterday I came to visit my child's class and I was amazed at what they learn at 4th grade, I even learn from my child. He really enjoys going to school. The school provides many different programs from holidays to sports, music, theater, etc. The school is like a big family, we always have great events that I love to attend. My child has lots of great friends and so do I.
Jewish Academy of Orlando was one of the best decisions we made for our daughter. The smaller class size and amazing faculty have helped her significantly advance in her academic development. I recently met with her teacher, Mrs. Korzon, who makes herself available often and is a true partner to us in seeing Livia academically excel. Her advice is very helpful and as working parents, she provides us easy "math tips and tricks" to apply at home. We feel so lucky to have such a supportive team of teachers working with both our daughter and us. Thank you Jewish Academy!
The Jewish Academy of Orlando offers a far advanced curriculum in a warm, enriching, Jewish setting. The results from their national testing speaks for itself-- the children are testing several grade levels above students from other schools. The JAO has amazing resources and even operates their own TV station in the morning, presenting the news. It seems as if all of the parents are involved in the school, making a warm, welcoming environment-- no one is ever left out. The classwork challenges my daugter and motivates her to learn more. She can't wait to get up in the morning and get to school, what more could a parent want!
JAO is a fabulous place to enrich your children's learning experience. They are very adept at tailoring the learning experience for your child. Our children are thriving and it is very exciting to see that when we pick them up or go to the school for different functions. The school promotes citizenry, public speaking and philanthropy. We couldn't be happier with the education our boys are receiving. Schedule a visit to see why we are happy to have this school!
Great school! Everyone is attentive and friendly on the staff! They have a great curriculum in place. We are extremely proud and happy to have our son going to the Jewish academy.
We LOVE Jewish Academy of Orlando! It is everything we wanted for our child -strong academics, enrichment, and a nurturing environment. It is an amazing school!
Jewish Academy of Orlando is an excellent school! As expected, the academics are amazing. The administrators know all of the children. The teachers are skilled and also greatly care about the children. The children are given a very well-rounded education, including moral and ethical training. The administrators lead by example. As a family with a special needs child, we feel very embraced and accepted. They go out of their way to make sure we feel included when at events. They display high levels of respect as well. Each professional treats my son, who doesn't go to the school, with cheer and respect. Shabbat days are my favorite. I love to see the kids singing with such joy and the community built between the children. The upper grade kids love the younger kids. They hug them, talk to them and treat them very well. There doesn't seem to be negative competition between them--only support of one another! I would recommend this school to anyone!
My school is a place where you feel welcomed and accepted at all times. The family atmosphere allows to students to feel comfortable and safe.
Jewish Academy of Orlando is an amazing place to work. We are family. We love our children.
Curriculum Night this week was amazing! I love sitting in the classroom hearing all of the wonderful things our children are learning! Proud to be part of such an amazing school...feeling very connected. 1st Grade Mom
This is a great school to get a well rounded education including judaica and Hebrew.
I have 3 children who attend JAO and are thriving there! Two are middle schoolers who have been there since kindergarten, and one kindergartener just starting out:) The kids feel so connected to their school and teachers. It is more than just a school for them - it's a second family. The education they are receiving is top-notch, the teachers are enthusiastic, and the classes are small, so they really get a lot of individual attention. I'm so grateful for the differentiated learning that allows each of them to learn at an accelerated pace so they stay challenged!
As a reluctant parent of JAO- I have been completely won over. The school lives by the the idea that every student learns differently and goes above and beyond to meet each students needs. The teachers give 110% and that's what makes this school great. The Jewish/ Hebrew that was so intimating to me in the beginning has now become something I am proud my kids are learning. My kids have a strong Jewish identity, they are being challenged academically and most important LOVE going to school everyday!
Would give it zero stars if I could as it is nothing more than hype. This school is academically inferior and enrollment declines every year. If that is not enough to go on, the parents are extremely clicky, gossipy and shallow. Hebrew teachers are rude and cater to the Israeli children. The amount of money you put into the school is directly correlated to the way you and your child will be treated and respected. As if tuition isn't high enough, get used to being asked for money on at least a weekly basis. We are much happier in every aspect since we've moved on.
