Academic focus and philosophy

Educational philosophy and approach to learning LPP not only offers our students an exceptional Montessori education, but we also incorporate cultural enrichments to stimulate our students’ natural analytical and critical thinking. We believe in the complete intellectual development of our students and our enrichment programs which support that. Classroom materials are designed to capture a child’s natural curiosity and our teachers use that spark of interest to guide their students' growth and learning into skill and competence.

English Language Learner program details Students from around the world attend Le Petit Papillon. Many of these new students speak different languages when they arrive at the school. They are placed in classrooms where only English is spoken and special attention and tutoring is given to students to help them adjust and absorb the new language. We have had 100% success with this methods in teaching students fluency.

Social emotional skills development Montessori is the number one way to teach your children social and emotional skills. Thorough our school dynamic.
Math skills development We practice math skills every day, as well as assign accelerated math homework for all grade levels. There are also myriad materials in each classroom that support math learning at a high level and are fun for the children. Many students choose to work on these math activities outside of the scheduled math time.
Speech development We have a speech therapist that comes and works with the children every week. We also practice these skills in our classrooms every day starting with the Toddler classrooms.
Reading skills development We have a reading club starting in Pre-K. Students begin reading in school at an extremely young age and we believe at LPP that reading is of the utmost importance, and fundamental to our learning experience. Student are also assigned reading homework and practice reading inside the classroom every day with their peers. All of our students read at an above average level for their respective age groups.
